Antwerp: Spring-Sum 2015 Trends at The UPR Press Days

I left early in the morning without knowing …

Arrived in Antwerp, I waited and waited for the bus … almost one hour! Note that by walking, it would have taken half an hour max! On the bus after two stops, the driver asked us to get out because he ended his service and invited us to choose to wait for his colleague or take another bus, explaining that today there was the strike. 

I chose to walk twenty minutes under a drizzle that ruined my hair! When I finally arrived at UPR, nearly 2 hours late, I had a scarecrow head! Big thanks to the new hair products (completely ineffective) I’ve tried the night before to have the impeccable hair!

Never mind I’m right on time for the lunch organized by Club Med, for the presentation of its new Spring-Summer 2015, along with the CEO of Club Med Belgium and Luxembourg, Hadi Kamouh and his team. On the photo montage below: No. 1, the new catalog of Club Med.

The dishes cooked by the starred chef Pascal Devalkeneer are really delicious, my favorite: a dish consisting of thin slices of octopus (photo above). While the sommelier Eric Boschman is horrified seeing that I drink Coca Zero. “When you want to return to civilization …” he says to me serving me a glass of wine, LOL!

As I almost exclusively communicate through the Internet,

I have little opportunity to meet the people I work with. So it is always a pleasure to go to press days and put a face to familiar names : )

And of course discover new collections and labels that I didn’t know, such as Rado and Bell & Ross watches, the German brand Dorothy Schumacher, with simple lines and beautiful materials. And the Luz jewelry, really trendy.

On the photo montage above: No. 2, suspense! The beautiful Sam Edelman ankle boots, very soon in one of my fashion posts. No. 3, the Swarvoski necklace with 700 mini cristaux very soon in an upcoming post on a series of selfies I realized. And No. 4, the Ferragamo beautiful sunglasses, very Dolce Vita.

As you know I am a huge fan of sunglasses

And beauty: shortly on the blog, my new tests of l’Occitane products. I also had the opportunity to test the famous Sopolish of Pronails. Stickers to put on nails, on which the polish is applied for a perfect finish for three weeks! Without damaging the nails. To remove the polish, just remove the stickers!

Since the stickers and nail polish were applied (one week), my nails remained perfect! With my usual polish, after 2 days, it’s a disater. On the above photo montage: No. 1, the different sizes of stickers. No. 2, stickers placed on the nails, before limiting. No. 3, the ultra glam and flashy red that I chose. And No. 4, the catalog of the beautiful Spring-Sum 2015 collection of the Swedish brand Philippa K.

Anvers: tendances P/E 2015 aux press days UPR

Partie le matin tôt, je ne savais pas…

Arrivée à Anvers, j’ai attendu et attendu patiemment le bus… près d’une heure! Notez qu’à pied, j’en aurai eu pour une demie heure maxi! Dans le bus, après deux arrêts, le conducteur nous demande de descendre car il a fini son service et nous invite au choix à attendre son collègue ou prendre un autre bus, en précisant qu’aujourd’hui c’est la grève.

J’ai choisi de marcher une bonne vingtaine de minutes, sous un crachin qui a bousillé ma coiffure! Lorsque j’arrive enfin chez UPR, sois près de 2h de retard, j’ai en prime une tête d’épouvantail! Un grand merci aux nouveaux (totalement inefficaces) produits capillaires que j’ai essayé la veille pour avoir une coiffure impec le jour J!

Qu’à cela ne tienne je suis pile-poil à l’heure pour le déjeuner organisé par le Club Med, pour la présentation de ses nouveautés du Printemps-Eté 2015, en compagnie du Directeur Général de Club Med Belgique et Luxembourg, Hadi Kamouh et son équipe. Sur le montage photos ci-dessous: n°1, nouveau catalogue du Club Med.

Les plats cuisinés par le chef étoilé Pascal Devalkeneer sont succulents, mon préféré : une entrée composée de lamelles de pieuvre (photo ci-dessus). Tandis que le sommelier Eric Boschman est horrifié en voyant que je carbure au Coca Zero. “Quand tu voudras revenir à la civilisation…” me lance-t-il en me servant un verre de vin, LOL!

Communiquant presque exclusivement par Internet,

j’ai peu l’occasion de rencontrer mes interlocuteurs. Donc c’est toujours un plaisir d’aller aux pressdays, pour mettre un visage à des prénoms devenus familiers : )

Et bien sûr découvrir les nouvelles collections ou des labels que je ne connaissais pas, comme les montres Rado et Bell & Ross, la marque allemande Dorothée Schumacher, aux lignes simples et belles matières. Et les bijoux fantaisie, Luz, très actuels.

Sur le photo montage ci-dessus : n°2, suspense! Les magnifiques boots de Sam Edelman, très bientôt dans un de mes posts mode. N°3, le collier Swarvoski aux 700 mini cristaux, très vite dans un prochain post sur une série de photos-selfies que j’ai réalisées. Et n°4, les superbes lunettes Ferragamo, très Dolce Vita.

Comme vous le savez je suis une dingue de lunettes

Et de beauté : à venir sur le blog, mes nouveaux tests de produits de l’Occitane. J’en ai aussi profité pour tester le fameux Sopolish de Pronails. Des stickers à poser sur les ongles, sur lesquels on applique le vernis pour un finish impeccable pendant trois semaines! Sans abîmer ses ongles. Pour enlever le vernis, on retire juste les stickers!

Depuis la pose (soit une semaine), tout est resté nickel! Avec du vernis normal, au bout de 2 jours, pour moi c’est la cata. Sur le photo montage ci-dessus : n°1, les différentes tailles de stickers. N°2, stickers posés sur les ongles, avant d’être limés. N°3, le rouge super flashy et glam que j’ai choisi. Et n°4, le catalogue de la belle collection Printemps-Eté de la marque suédoise Philippa K.

Vila Vita Parc, Portugal: Restaurants & Wine Cellar

Breakfast overlooking the ocean 

at the Atlântico restaurant: exhilarating (picture 1)! Around 10 am, the sun is already pretty strong and the day before we were afraid it would rain! The green garden bordering the coast, draws perfectly on the ocean blue.

The view is stunning: picture 2, taken at the Ocean restaurant, the ocean view is quite similar to the terrace of the Atlântico! Every day we choose a new table at breakfast with a different view of the ocean.

The buffet of the Atlântico restaurant is varied: excellent fresh fruits bursting with sunshine, with a friendly discreet service. Photos 2, 3 and 4: Ocean, the famous gourmet restaurant with two Michelin stars! Photo 2: Empty wine decanters, like in an alchemist’s lair … Photo 3: A giant Fabergé egg in malachite!

The best fish in the world

I dreamed of a great fish to change (LOL!). We dine “casual chic” in Adega, the restaurant of Portuguese specialties. Discovering my huge dish, I am impressed by the size of the fish (picture above and on the last picture of this article : photo 1, the terrasse of Adega)! 

I learned that chefs of gourmet restaurants in London and New York charter aircraft with fish caught in the area the same day. This year, the fish of the Algarve have received the title of best fish in the world.

I’m not a foodie, but I can appreciate some great ingredients: my fish is excellent! As a starter, I chose delicious shrimps! A kind of proteins orgy : )

Do you know the Portuguese Pétrus?

No, this is not a Madeira wine, but a grand cru of Douro, North of Portugal: the Barca Velha (picture above).

At seven meters under ground (the adventure begins!), we meet the sommelier José Figueirinha for a private tour of the Vila Vita Parc wine cellar. Exceptional cellar in Portugal, with an average of 11,000 bottles (pictures below 2 & 3).

Many great Portuguese and French wines (including Château Latour), but also Italian, Spanish or South African wines … And a room especially dedicated to Porto Vintage.
