Clinique Skin Care

The Twice-daily Routine That Really Works

Do you remember few months ago Aïcha, the make-up expert of Clinique Belgium made up me (first picture)? She did also a skin diagnosis. For one year, I’ve find my skin very “disturbed and disturbing”: sometimes bright then dull with black spots on the nose. Sometimes some acne scars fade slightly while micro spots appear!

My skin was in bad state and I was really concerned! The worst season being summer with the heat, sweating, sunblock, combination skin discomfort and my laziness. So since the end of July, I’ve started my new skincare routine with six Clinique products. I was regular in the morning; in the evening I preferred not to put anything. Big MISTAKE!

For three weeks, I apply them morning and evening which changes everything! Absolutely EVERYTHING! The skin is boosted and cleansed. What an incredible visible change! Upon waking, my skin is just superb! Yes, clear, radiant and smoothed like using Photoshop (lol). Even my dark circles seem brighter.

All About Eyes reconciles me with eye contour creams that are usually too irritating to my very sensitive eyes. 90% of the black spots have disappeared. My skin is smooth, hydrated and nourished. I only have a few subcutaneous spots and  acne scars left. For these matters, I will visit my dermatologist.

The Steps

The ritual begins with the Clinique Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush and Anti-Blemish Solutions Cleasing Foam, a cleansing mousse. Step 2: I Clarifying Lotion 1.0 without alcohol. It works like a mini scrub. Step 3: Once the skin is dry, I put on the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ which is very nice. It penetrates quickly and gets into the skin very quickly.

Last steps: the anti-aging with a big up to the Clinique Smart Custom Repair! Applied in the evening, the following morning my skin is completely transformed! It operates according to the needs of the skin. If only the effect could last all day, it would be JUST FANTASTIC!

After the serum and All About Eyes, I finish my treatment with the Clinique Smart SPF 15 day cream which I also use at night. I have mixed feeling with this cream unlike the other five. Its texture is absolutely gorgeous, but my skin doesn’t absorb it. It does not penetrate and stays on the surface like a thin sticky film. Question: would there be silicones in the serum that would block the penetration of the cream?

I Rarely Wear Makeup

I don’t know how to put on makeup. And with laziness, I have difficulty learning! My obsession is more about the care of the skin and hair. Then I met the talented Aïcha, the makeup expert of Clinique Belgium who created a tailored made make-up for me. For day and night, discreet, nomadic and glam! And I love it!

To help you here are the products used (above photomontage):  Photo 1, the blush: Cheek Pop. And the concealer: Airbrush Concealer. Photo 2, the eye shadows: All About Shadow Squad. The eye pencil: High Impact Custom Black Kajal Noir Sur Mesure Impact Optimal (couleur bleue). The mascara: High Impact Extreme Volume Mascara. The lipstick: Clinique Pop Matte Lip Colour + Primer.

As we all have different skins, I recommend you adapt the colors to your skin tone (complexion, blush, lipstick). Have fun and keep it simple!

3 Organic Oils For Face, Body & Hair

3 Oils, 1 Hydrating

Hello Fall! New season, new routine for the face, body and hair based on a star ingredient: organic olive oil!

1. The Organic Olive Oil

Yes, the one bought in the supermarket and comestible! If it is good for the inside, it will be good for the outside. The organic olive oil has a thousand virtues. The main ones are: anti-aging, antioxidant, nourishing… This oils also participates in the natural moisture of the skin.

The organic olive oil is the basis of all my care, before the organic coconut oil (which I also love). I use both as pure as mixed with other oils, such as the almond oil and / or jojoba oil.

That’s awesome for my super dry feet! Before massaging the heels and tops of the feet with this oil: washed your feet and thoroughly dry between the toes (to prevent fungal infections).

2. Phytosun Sweet Almond Oil

For a month and a half, I’ve added to my beauty regiment two organic vegetable oils: the sweet almond and jojoba of Phytosun (not edible!). Coming out of the shower, I apply a mixture of the organic olive oil with the sweet almond oil on wet body.

Why wet skin? I copied and pasted my dry hair routine to the skin: 1. moisten the hair and 2. to block hydration, apply an oil, shea butter or balm.

The oil bath: I mix the organic olive, sweet almond and jojoba oils in a bowl placed in a larger container which is filled with hot water to warm the oils. I apply the mix on the lengths and ends and leave it overnight (under a plastic cap and a scarf).

Not glam at all, but very effective! The next day, according to the state of my hair, I wash, rinse or leave it more. I have a thick mass of very dry hair which needs to be permanently sheathed, nourished and protected.

3. Phytosun Jojoba Oil

This jojoba oil is a real pleasure and comfort to my sensitive combination face skin. It regulates sebum, protects, nourishes, regenerates, firms and keeps the skin hydration. For few weeks, I’ve applied it in the morning or evening (like a fece cream) and my skin is bright, with fewer imperfections!

The next step would be to learn to massage my face, to optimize the firming effect. And to add a sunscreen too. You can also use the jojoba oil as a mild cleanser. And for hair as a serum on very dry ends.

With vegetable oils, you need to be regular. And I alternate with targeted products: for example some months, with oils only and followed by months with anti-aging serums and creams.

4. L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Perfecting Toner

After cleaning and before applying the oil: I hydrate my skin. I soak a cotton with the (alcohol free) Pivoine Sublime Perfecting Tone. And I apply it all over my face and neck as a hydrating refreshing compress.

The peony scent is light and irresistible, as often with L’Occitane products.

What are your favorite oils? And which ones do you recommend me to test next?
