L’And Vineyards: Minimalist Design Skysuite

We drive south to Montemor-o-Novo in Alentejo.

Torrential rain in the morning in Lisbon and a sawtooth moral: torrential downpours for more than a week now! The sky is cleared early afternoon, when we arrive at The L’And Vinyards for a gastronomic stay. The hotel has a Michelin-starred restaurant.

We are in a beautiful countryside surrounded by vineyards: no noise, a bit worrying (lol)! I Can’t wait to discover our 120m² skysuite, leave luggages … and walk in the vineyards under a biblical light sky! The uncluttered design is signed Brazilian Márcio Kogan.

Tonight with any luck, if the weather permitting, I would be able to watch the stars from my bed! Very nice outdoor fireplace on the suite terrace, overlooking the infinity pool, the “garden of vines” and an artificial lake. I really enjoyed the bathroom in wood and black shale too (pictures below).

L’And Vineyards: une suite design ouverte sur le ciel

Nous roulons en direction du sud,

vers Montemor-o-Novo en Alentejo. Pluie diluvienne le matin à Lisbonne et moral en dents de scie : plus d’une semaine d’averses torrentielles! Début d’après-midi, le ciel s’est éclairci lorsque nous arrivons au L’And Vinyards, pour un séjour gastronomique. L’hôtel compte un restaurant étoilé Michelin.

Nous sommes en pleine campagne, au milieu des vignes : pas un bruit, limite inquétant (lol!). Suis impatiente de visiter notre skysuite de 120m², déposer les bagages… promenade dans les vignobles voisins sous un ciel lumière biblique! Le design très épuré est signé du brésilien Márcio Kogan.

Avec un peu de chance, si la météo le permet, ce soir je pourrai voir les étoiles depuis mon lit! Très agréable cheminée extérieure sur la terrasse de la suite, avec vue sur la piscine à débordement, le “jardin de vignes” et un lac artificiel. J’ai aussi beaucoup aimé la salle de bain en bois et schiste noir (photos ci-dessous).

Brussels, Belgium: Dinner at Chez Montaigne

Foodies, you’ll enjoy this restaurant!

I recently discovered with my dear mum, the excellent restaurant Chez Montaigne, Place Brugmann 27.

My family and friends say I’m picky about food, but I don’t think so. I prefer the quality of products than some extravagant associations and sauces that kill the essence of the taste of each ingredient …

I like to be a bit surprised, but not too much! In other words, it’s quite challenging for the chef (LOL)! We sit inside because it’s raining on the terrace (pictures 1 & 5).

The decor is white and minimalist, a painting by Jean-Luc Moerman roughly recalls the French philosopher Montaigne. The light softens gradually as the evening progresses. We arrived early and will leave among the last (a good sign).

Great first meals

My mother chooses a salad of beets sliced very thin with chew, a half fig and hazelnut. Really delicious (picture above)!

As always, I don’t like to experiment and I choose a more conventional dish with thin avocado slices, parsley and lobster, perfectly seasoned (picture 2). Lovely presentation: many colors in the plate! And impeccable service both professional and friendly!
