Bangkok Tree House, The Eco-friendly Hotel

After several days of an itinerant blog trip in nature reserves,

I spent two days in Bangkok Tree House. Epic arrival in a motorized small boat stuck in the mud, filmed by the show “Follow Me” for Thai TV channel! So glam! Honestly after hours on the road, endless waiting at the airport, the aircraft, traffic jam in Bangkok and now the vase added to a moist heat (I liquify): I don’t really want to be filmed ! The art of being a travel AND fashion blogger ; )

The area is far from the center

and I feel heading to the end of the world when reaching by the bamboo pontoon. I really liked the architecture and eco-friendly concept. The small hotel of eight rooms, is divided into several blocks partially covered with large mirrors, bamboo, paintings of artists (below) and lush vegetation (photo 6).

The owner and staff are very welcoming. The place is hype. Before discovering my room, during the filming of “Follow Me”, I begin a short interview with the producer and host, Dr. Nathasedh Top Poonsapmanee (photo 5).

– In “Follow Me”, I’d like the Thai to see places where they never go. Today Bangkok is colorful and a mix of tradition and new generation.

Where to eat and drink in Bangkok?

– Go to Sukkumvit area! Bo.Lan is a renowned Thai restaurant, run by a couple of chefs, Bo and Dylan (Sukhumvit Soi 26). Grase, a bar and nightclub (Sukhumvit Soi 49). And Level, club and lounge (Sukhumvit Soi 11).

What about Thai young designers?

– For women: Vic and Asava. For men: Grey house and Closet.

The + of the Bangkok Tree House

The eco-friendly and sustainable concept: congrats ! The architecture and decoration both organic and design, are great too. The atmosphere and the staff are very cool, it feels good immediately. The neighborhood, 100% Thai immersion.

The – of the Bangkok Tree House

The hotel is on stilts, at low tide you can see all the rubbish of the Chao Phraya river and it is not pleasant. Maintenance: ants invasion on my bed and clogged toilets in my room. The restaurant.

Bangkok Tree House, l’hôtel éco-responsable

Après plusieurs jours d’un blog trip itinérant dans des réserves naturelles,

je passe deux jours au Bangkok Tree House. Epique arrivée dans une barque motorisée, enlisée dans la vase, le tout filmé par l’émission “Follow Me” pour une chaîne de télé thaï! So glam! Honnêtement après des heures sur la route, d’attente interminable à l’aéroport, l’avion, les embouteillages de Bangkok et maintenant la vase sous une chaleur humide où je me liquéfie : je n’ai pas vraiment envie d’être filmée! L’art d’être une blogueuse voyage ET mode ; )

Le quartier est très excentré

et j’ai l’impression d’être au bout du monde en débarquant sur le ponton en bambou. Je flash sur l’architecture très épurée, au concept éco-responsable. Le petit hôtel de huit chambres, se divise en plusieurs blocs recouverts partiellement de larges miroirs, bambou, peintures d’artistes (ci-dessous) et végétation luxuriante (photo 6).

Le propriétaire et le personnel sont très accueillants. L’endroit est hype. Avant de découvrir ma chambre, profitant du tournage de “Follow Me”, j’entame une courte interview du présentateur/producteur vedette, Dr. Top Nathasedh Poonsapmanee (photo 5).

– Dans “Follow Me”, j’aimerai que les thaï voient des endroits où ils ne vont jamais. Aujourd’hui Bangkok est haut en couleur, mélange de tradition et nouvelle génération.

Où manger et sortir dans Bangkok?

– Du côté de Sukkumvit. Bo.Lan est un restaurant thaï reconnu, tenu par un couple de chefs Bo et Dylan (Sukhumvit Soi 26). Grase, un bar/boîte de nuit (Sukhumvit Soi 49). Et Level, un club et lounge (Sukhumvit Soi 11).

Des jeunes créateurs thaï?

– Pour la femme : Vic et Asava. Pour l’homme : Grey house et Closet.

Les + du Bangkok Tree House

Le concept très actuel, éco-responsable : bravo! L’architecture et la décoration à la fois organique et design, sont aussi très réussies. L’ambiance et l’équipe sont très cool, on s’y sent immédiatement bien. Le quartier, en immersion 100% thaï.

Les – du Bangkok Tree House

L’hôtel étant sur pilotis, à marée basse, on voit tous les détritus de la rivière Chao Phraya et ça n’est pas agréable. La maintenance : invasion de fourmis sur mon lit et toilettes bouchées dans ma chambre. Le restaurant.

Portugal: A walk and restaurant in Nazaré

After visiting the lighthouse of Nazaré

and a walk on the rather infinite beach, Praia do Norte (“North Beach”, where you can find the biggest waves in the world), my friends want to lunch. At 5 p.m. on Sunday … I take the opportunity to discover some monuments of the old city bathed in a gold light. Pictures from 1 to 3: small chapel with beautiful azuleros blue and white inside (picture 2), overlooking the ocean. We are heading to the part of town along the seaside (picture 4).

A Celeste

Pictures from 5 to 8 : one of us had more flair and leads the posse to an unpretentious restaurant. The bottom of the air is cold, fortunately the terrace facing the sea is completely covered (picture 7). Just sitting, I’m discoverig two “Garrett McNamara” menus (picture 8) … Yes, signed by the legendary surfer who defeated here in Nazaré, all records of the biggest waves ever surfed in the world! The first record in 2011, with a wave of 23 m and the second record in 2013, with a wave of 34 m (or a little more) at 45 years old! Celeste is one of the Hawaiian champion and Nicole, his wife’s canteens. I’m not hungry, but my friends ordered an excellent fish! And the lady who cooks is adorable. The Famous Petticoats

Pictures below : the fashion detail that struck me in the street (so me, lol!): several older women are dressed up with “puffed” skirts reaching below the knees. In fact, it is a feature of the traditional costume of Nazaré. Several petticoats are juxtaposed under the skirt (picture 10: archives of the lighthouse of Nazaré). In the past, women wore petticoats up to 7 for a festive dress!
