Wellness & Fooding Weekend in Poland (Part 2)

For all those who will party and eat quite a lot tonight, here is an idea of detox weekend’s destination! Few months ago, I was invited in the region of Swietorkrzyskie (Holy Cross) in southern Poland for a wellness and fooding weekend. After the discovery of the Baseny Mineralne, a new spa complex and the Malinowy Zdroj Medical Spa **** , I plunged with delight in the design pool of the Odyssey hotel (pictures 2 & 3) ! What a pleasure to swim while enjoying a panoramic view of the city of Kielce ! It changes the monotony of back and forth swimming ! Mademoiselle, come on, stop pretending just swimming! Ok I confess, I mainly tested the jacuzzi (but it’s also a hard work to tone!). Time to slip into a wide bathrobe for a facial at the spa hotel (pictures 4 & 5). And I fear a little, I’ve never tested SkinCeuticals cosmetics. My therapist has magic fingers and quickly I fall asleep. Wake up, my ultra sensitive skin radiates ! And I’m a kind of picky, always looking for skin imperfection. After the effort, the comfort, I have to go dressing for the dinner at the Space Odyssey Restaurant. The chef Tomasz Pawluska offers a tasty simple lightweight Polish cuisine (pictures 1, 6 & 7). And if like me, you really enjoy the simplicity, you will feel spoiled here ! The food is delicious and the presentation is neat with an efficient discreet service. Time to enjoy food after training, LOL !

Weekend bien-être et gastronomie en Pologne (suite)

Pour tous ceux qui ce soir réveillonneront léger (LOL!), voici une idée de destination weekend détoxe! Il y a plusieurs mois, j’ai été invitée dans la région de Swietorkrzyskie (Sainte-Croix) au Sud de la Pologne, pour un week-end bien-être. Après la découverte du nouveau complexe thermal Baseny Mineralne et du spa médical de l‘hôtel Malinowy Zdroj Medical Spa ****, j’ai plongé avec délice, dans la piscine design de l’hôtel Odyssey (photos 2 & 3)! Quel plaisir de nager en profitant d’une vue panoramique sur la ville de Kielce! Ca change de la monotonie des longueurs! Bon j’arrête de faire genre, j’ai surtout testé le jacuzzi (exactement: un travail assidu sur la tonicité, LOL!). Mais je glisse déjà dans un large peignoir, pour un soin visage au spa de l’hôtel (photos 4 & 5). J’appréhende un peu, je n’ai jamais testé la très pointue marque SkinCeuticals. Ma thérapeute a des doigts de fée et je m’endors rapidement. Au réveil, ma peau ultra sensible, irradie! Et je suis du genre plutôt chiante, à traquer l’imperfection. Après l’effort, le réconfort : je file me préparer. On m’attend pour dîner au Space Odyssey Restaurant, où le chef Tomasz Pawluska propose une cuisine polonaise revue et corrigée. Légère, simple et goûteuse (photos 1, 6 & 7). Et comme j’aime la simplicité, je suis gâtée! Les plats sont délicieux, la présentation est soignée et le service, discret et efficace.

I discovered this design hotel during my recent weekend in Kielce, in Swietorkrzyskie, the Witches country in southern Poland. It intrigues you … yes, witches of the south of Poland! Let me help you: we are not far from Krakow. To be honest, I have deserted “design” hotels for a while. I’ve prefered staying in hotels that often offered a greater comfort with more original decorations than a copied pasted of Wallpaper magazine. 4 years, almost all design hotels are alike (except for some really impressive). Do not expect to find at the Odyssey a revolutionary design. And so much the better! Here the decoration is more contemporary than purely “design”. It rests the eye and calms the mind. My favorite space: the lovely infinity pool with huge windows (picture 2). I stayed between the hot tub and spa that offers a wide range of treatments, with an interesting selection of brands such as Decleor, SkinCeuticals (…). I tested a really good SkinCeuticals facial. It’s been awhile that I wanted to test this brand, but never dared. In my room, I appreciated the clear space, shower (picture 4) and especially the unobstructed panoramic (picture 6). The garden (picture 1) and the large reception hall with the walls covered with green plants (pictures 3 & 7) amplify the well being vibe. And the restaurant is really delicious with a light cuisine very well presented and nicely served. A discreet hotel to spend a relaxation weekend.
