The Vogue Fashion’s Night Out in Lisbon: More Than Fashion

My First Vogue Fashion’s Night Out in Lisbon!

Where were you last night? It started wrong for me. The day before the event, we were 4 highly motivated! Then yesterday, everyone canceled. Urban temper! Never mind, I decided to go with my faithful companion, my Canon and a little newcomer, my new phone ; )

Already three years ago, I attended the Paris Vogue Fashion’s Night Out, Avenue Montaigne, more formal and … Much less relaxed than the Lisbon one which was very festive and friendly! It’s funny because it rained all day long (today too!), but the night was pretty hot!

From Principe Real To Barrio Alto: Everything Is More Beautiful At Night!

First stop in a great neighborhood, Principe Real full of people last night! Pictures 1 and 4: Embaixiada and picture 2: the coffee, bar and restaurant in Embaixiada, Le Jardin which overlooks a bohemian garden. Picture 3: Big up to the Carolina at 21 PR Concept Store, the coolest girl that night!

Picture 5 (below): nice projection on the facade of the CS Vintage Lisboa Hotel. Picture 6: the traffic! Picture 7: live music in Bairro Alto, apparently the audience enjoyed it. The music was outdated and the MC pretty bad (80s hits such as “Last Night a DJ Saved My Life”). Picture 8: the famous tram! And picture 9: the beautiful Museu de São Roque where I spent a long time.

The Great Surprise of The Evening: A Visit To The Museu de São Roque

When I told you that here the Vogue Fashion’s Night Out is more than just a fashion event, thankfully otherwise I couldn’t stay for long! I took the opportunity to discover this rich religious art of the museum and the magnificent church, Igreja de São Roque Museum.

I enjoyed a private tour of the museum with the curators and guides. Picture 11 (below): the Igreja de São Roque and picture 12: one of the chapels of the church dating from the eighteenth century. Picture 10: the lovely courtyard with a soothing atmosphere, where a DJ played good eletro music.

In Chiado: Too Many People!

Unable to move in this dense crowd (picture 13)! And I couldn’t stand people to walk on my new Skechers Go Walk! Honestly I’m not a big fan of the look of these shoes (and I can’t understand why they are the big trend of this fall/winter)! But I love their incredible comfort: the soleplate takes the shape of the foot!  A bless for this kind of night out (review in a future post)!

Bravely I went down to Santini, but looking at the line, I quickly forgot to have an ice cream! A nightmare to walk back to Bairro Alto, some great live Cuban music (picture 14) … How can people go shopping in these conditions?

Vogue Fashion’s Night Out à Lisbonne

Lisbon-Vogue Fashion's Night Out-Embaixada-Shops-Photo Mademoiselle Le K-copyright 2014

Ma première Vogue Fashion’s Night Out à Lisbonne!

Lisbon: Shopping, Beach and Night Market

Lisbon-Portugal-Shopping-Breakfast-Photo Mademoiselle Le K-copyright 2014

What to do a summer Saturday in Lisbon?

Cheerful colourful lazy breakfast in bed. Great breakfast, isn’t it? I was dying to show you it!

Already noon, it’s super hot. As I do not like the heat and I prefer discovering some boutiques of young designers in the deserted city. There are only tourists in town (LOL)!

On my way to Principe Real

Near the famous Embaixada, here are few shopping places I like for their decor or selection of clothing and accessories.

Pictured above, the boutiques : Alexandra Moura (3) and Gopa (4). And two concept stores: Slow Retail Concept Store (1) and 21 pr Concept Store (2).

I really like the Slow Retail Concept Store, where I spent a long time: very colorful with a boho vibe and very friendly traders.

At the Real Slow Retail Concept Store,

I like for the beach, the hippie chic embroidered tunics designed by Xana Madeira (pictured above, 3).

A bit of fancy with the bangles of Ana Calheiros (2). The corner of the multibrand, Rosebud for vintage chic accessories: bags (Chloe …), shoes and jewelry (4).

The Nomada coffee, for a drink or snack in a bohemian atmosphere. Plus it smells so good: unfortunately no time to stop me this time I have late lunch at the beach!

Hello the beach : )

We head  to Costa da Caparica, closer than Cascais or Gincho, 20 minutes drive from Lisbon. There is not a beach, but many beaches for miles. We arrive at 4.30-5 p.m., the best time!

The sun is still hot and gives us a golden complexion. The water is cold, it’s the ocean, but you quickly get used to it, thanks to the waves. My first swim was early May in an invigorating icy water!

Lively discussion (LOL) on our chairs, with the Brazilian electro music of the beach restaurant. And yummy fresh juices! Cheers!

Dinner at the market while listening to a DJ

Awesome! You can also listen to fado or blues lives some nights! So time to go and have a shower before going to dinner at the Mercado de Campo de Ourique.

Although I should be stayed on the beach, I really like the relaxed atmosphere of the market. A nice mix of people: families, groups of friends, hipsters, normcores and others …

Traditional Portuguese products at very reasonable prices. It’s simple and good: taste the Portugese beans (healthy and tasteful)! On weekends, it ‘s hard to find seats to eat.
