Copenhagen Night: Restaurant, Bars and Music

My Copenhagen night: restaurant, bars and music. Sorry for the blurry pictures, camera problem and windy outside! First stop: invited by an Italian friend in the Danish gourmet restaurant, I discover the city from the water (picturess 1 and 2). Beautiful panorama! Honestly I haven’t marked the dishes by their taste or  presentation. Yet at a time, I was fan of La Maison du Danemark smoked fish in Paris. Tastes change, today I’m addicted to the Mediterranean cuisine and Japanese cuisine… But on the boat restaurant, I especially loved the view of Copenhagen, the fireworks and the fantastic time spent with my friends, away from the tourist centers.

Then we jump in the Mini of my Italian friend (last picture). I really enjoy his Mini Austin, so chic! Rolling glam in Copenhagen by night! Vavavoom! We go to an Afrobeat live of the Deodato band, on seabed. Just before arriving there: a short stop at the SAS Royal Hotel (built between 1956-1961), to discover one of the iconic achievements of Arne Jacobsen, the famous architect and father of Danish design. I found the lobby quite “outdated”. But this conception of space has more than 50 years and I am pretty impressed that it lasts! It’s not every day we have the chance to enter an original Arne Jacobsen’s work! Unfortunately I was not able to see more of the building, we arrived too late.

Stop 4 a club. The only interest of Karriere: its location in the Meatmarket area. The argument is too light to stay more than two minutes: let’s move to Ruby. A Copenhagen lounge, with noisy eighties music (kind of bad pop rock)! Unbearable! The same kind of music played by most radio stations, that gives the feeling time has stopped in Copenhagen! This is quite confusing. The Ruby is located in an apartment. The atmosphere is cool, I like it. But don’t expect the communicative joy of some clubs in London or New York. It’s pretty cold here: essential accessories, your buddies!
