Hotel La Legende: A Stylish Breakfast in Brussels, Belgium

Exclusive, freshly renovated: some pictures of the “new” breakfast room in the charming Hotel La Legend. When you’re traveling, if you prefer feeling at home, here’s a rare address: a small family hotel with 27 rooms, including a nice studio in the attic, in the heart of Brussels. The hotel is located 10 minutes from the Sablons, one of my favorite neighborhoods and less than 5 minutes from the Grand Place, but away from crowds. I enjoy its calm and friendly atmosphere. And I really like the new design of the breakfast room: extremely simple in white ivory, chic and very contemporary. It was quite difficult for me to leave the room, as I felt relaxed and comfortable. When I’m traveling, breakfast is a very important time, where I plan my day to come. I need to find myself in an intimate and clear space. Just like here, with these large windows overlooking the courtyard which separates the noise from the street.

Saint-Emilion Village in France

Another idea

for an early fall week-end (I know we just are at the end of August!), a postcard destination really close: the charming village of Saint-Emilion (in France).

I discovered Bordeaux and its region several months ago and now I’m a huge fan. Beyond the vineyards and the famous wine’s appellation, you defenitely have to visit the medieval village of Saint-Emilion!

A really exciting place with its imposing monolithic church, the largest in Europe (pictures 2, 3 & 4) with more than 70 hectares of underground tunnels dug into the limestone. Not to be missed, this is absolutely awesome!

East Sussex, UK: A Walk In The Old City Of Hastings

A post for all those looking a different destination for a relaxing weekend : here is Hastings in East Sussex, England. Forget immediatly your party animal temper to switch to “a deep seaside breath” only. I recommend the hyperactive, a homeopathic dose of two days, no more. Enjoy the pictures in my tour of the old town of Hastings. Picture 1: view down to the fishing area, with the amazing Net shops (picture 2), black wooden huts erected in height, where fishermen traditionally ranked their nets and fishing equipment. Absolutely new for me! Near the net shops, I also discover @ the Jerwood Gallery, some British painters of the 20th century and 21st (post to come). Pictures 3 & 4: typical narrow street of the old Hastings leads to an English gardens! Then I reach some shopping streets, with many small antique shops, full of miscellaneous objects completely surreal, like in “The Advengers” (last picture).

Informations : to go to Hastings by Ferry FDS Seaways from  Dunkerque to Dover, www.norfolkline.com, www.visit1066country.com.
