I Tested the Acer Customer Service

“Forced” Digital Detox

My computer broke down after two years of idyllic common life (lol). Panic! Since this summer, following the “almost imposed” update on Windows 10, I’ve noticed that my faithful Aspire V15 Nitro Black was slower, accumulating the bugs. But I patiently dealt with it.

Some applications jumped, others like Paint disappeared. Then, nothing: a black screen, no way to restart it. After a long weekend to read and apply a thousand protocols to try to restart it, still nothing! A few days later, I get in ypoch with the after-sales service, based in the Netherlands. I am relieved to learn that my device is still under warranty.

A nice efficient person checks with me different ways to restart my laptop that refuses to function. The problem seems serious and I have to send it to Acer. The company sends me by the mail, stickers to put on my package, for the sending by UPS (pre-paid by Acer). Two possibilities for the withdrawal of the package: UPS picks it up at home, or I can leave the package at one of the UPS collection points.

My tip: take different pictures of your laptop and some once packed. Do not forget to add the plug in. When the Acer After-Sales Service the package received, they send me an email. Less than a week later, I was getting my laptop repaired! Throughout the process, I received emails to keep me informed of each step.

You can’t imagine HOW HAPPY I was to find my work buddy-tool, all beautiful clean! We, the human beings, tend to humanize technology. Accompanied by a mail entitled “Your Intervention Report”, detailing the repairs made in a clear and concise language. Great!

The following week, I received a call from Acer to evaluate my satisfaction (from1 to 10) regarding the intervention and the service. I gave an overall rating of 10! This is not a sponsored post! I just want to share yhe good surprise with you and the customer service of Acer Netherlands! THANK YOU Acer!

3 Organic Oils For Face, Body & Hair

3 Oils, 1 Hydrating

Hello Fall! New season, new routine for the face, body and hair based on a star ingredient: organic olive oil!

1. The Organic Olive Oil

Yes, the one bought in the supermarket and comestible! If it is good for the inside, it will be good for the outside. The organic olive oil has a thousand virtues. The main ones are: anti-aging, antioxidant, nourishing… This oils also participates in the natural moisture of the skin.

The organic olive oil is the basis of all my care, before the organic coconut oil (which I also love). I use both as pure as mixed with other oils, such as the almond oil and / or jojoba oil.

That’s awesome for my super dry feet! Before massaging the heels and tops of the feet with this oil: washed your feet and thoroughly dry between the toes (to prevent fungal infections).

2. Phytosun Sweet Almond Oil

For a month and a half, I’ve added to my beauty regiment two organic vegetable oils: the sweet almond and jojoba of Phytosun (not edible!). Coming out of the shower, I apply a mixture of the organic olive oil with the sweet almond oil on wet body.

Why wet skin? I copied and pasted my dry hair routine to the skin: 1. moisten the hair and 2. to block hydration, apply an oil, shea butter or balm.

The oil bath: I mix the organic olive, sweet almond and jojoba oils in a bowl placed in a larger container which is filled with hot water to warm the oils. I apply the mix on the lengths and ends and leave it overnight (under a plastic cap and a scarf).

Not glam at all, but very effective! The next day, according to the state of my hair, I wash, rinse or leave it more. I have a thick mass of very dry hair which needs to be permanently sheathed, nourished and protected.

3. Phytosun Jojoba Oil

This jojoba oil is a real pleasure and comfort to my sensitive combination face skin. It regulates sebum, protects, nourishes, regenerates, firms and keeps the skin hydration. For few weeks, I’ve applied it in the morning or evening (like a fece cream) and my skin is bright, with fewer imperfections!

The next step would be to learn to massage my face, to optimize the firming effect. And to add a sunscreen too. You can also use the jojoba oil as a mild cleanser. And for hair as a serum on very dry ends.

With vegetable oils, you need to be regular. And I alternate with targeted products: for example some months, with oils only and followed by months with anti-aging serums and creams.

4. L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Perfecting Toner

After cleaning and before applying the oil: I hydrate my skin. I soak a cotton with the (alcohol free) Pivoine Sublime Perfecting Tone. And I apply it all over my face and neck as a hydrating refreshing compress.

The peony scent is light and irresistible, as often with L’Occitane products.

What are your favorite oils? And which ones do you recommend me to test next?

Portugal, Évora: Vitória Stone Hotel

Improvised Brunch

in the Vitória Stone Hotel roof terrace with Alentejo biscuits and cheese. Delighted, I discovered the panoramic view (just for me) of this Évora neighborhood without tourists (except for hotel guests) and close to the old city (ten minutes walk).

Blue sky and white clouds: high brightness this morning. After months of greyish skies, the shock (lol)! I have the feeling to “see” in new colors! The seats are distributed on different levels. Attracted by sight, I move at the top level and stay near the small infinity pool (photos below).

Leaving, I go in front of the original sauna with walls lined with cork. Cork represents the Alentejo. Besides, I should write a sauna guide, since my meeting with world champion saunas in the South Tyrol!

The Room

Small But Comfortable

I’ve always found the decorations of the famous interior designer, Nini Andrade Silva, even more glamorous at evening with the different lighting effects and mirrors.

My room reminds me of a David Lynch movies … in part because of the thick curtain covering the entire width of the wall and dressing.

The space is optimized especially in the minimalist white bathroom that stretches the length, wuith an XXL mirror. I like the shower with its simple details. Bedding is also impeccable. In the morning, you can benefit of the small balcony (hidden behind the curtain).

The Hotel

J’aime

the intimate arrangement of the common areas. It allows to meet with other clients. We chat sat in the comfy amchairs while looking at the giant photos of megaliths surrounding Évora. Photo above : lounge in the hotel lobby and bar (left photo below).

The restaurant looks nice too (unfortunately I dined in the old city), with a long table that undulates along the bay window (right below). The toilets are pretty unusual with a huge stone bin for handwashing, mirrors and shadows game. Great!

This small hotel is really glam and charming with a smiling efficient service. I felt great!
