My Summer Beauty Routine: Shampoo and Hair Cream

My hair is “a poem” (French way to say: “hard work”)!

So no holiday for my very dry curly hair that requires constant care. The mix of sun-sea-sweat-oil and too-frequent shampoo, makes it brittle and dry up. Paradoxically it is the only “blessed” time of the year, I can let my hair “curls in the wind” (lol!). A real break for my scalp and my lengths. Except for the hair ends that tangle and are nodes. But I decided to simplify my summer hair routine.

1. For the shampoo : Karité intense nourishing shampoo (with shea butter) of René Furterer for extra dry hair and/or ethnic hair (1). Nice to apply and once the hair rinsed, it does not have this unbearable texture of wet straw! I also like the size of the package that I can easily take a trip.

2. On towel-dried hair, I apply a generous amount of Karité intense nourishing conditioning cream (with shea butter) of Rene Furterer (2). And I leave as much time I acn under a hot damp towel. If I go to the beach every day, at night I perfectly rinse my hair  with hot water (no shampoo) and finish by cold water to make it shine. I try to leave a few days between each shampoo.

3. I apply on damp hair a nourishing oil like the Monoi or the Huile de Palme (Palm Oil) of Leonor Greyl,  or my favourite Moisturizing Styling Ceam, with Quinoa oil of PhytoSpecific of (3). Sometimes I do not apply anything to let my hair breathe. And in the morning, I sheath again oil strand by strand, to prevent damage from salt, sand and sun. And then I forget my hair during the all day (lol!), basta cosi! If you have any suggestions or your special way to treat a very dry or Ethnic hair, please leave a comment or sent me an e-mail, I am always curious to discover a fantastic product!

Biarritz, France: The arrival @ The Roxy Pro 2012

MlleLeK Biarritz Côte des Basques 1

For all fans of surfing

that have not been able to get to the 7th Edition of the 2012 Roxy Pro Biarritz and penultimate stop of the ASP Women’s World Surfing Championship 2012. Here in Biarritz – out of competition – everyone is surfing, quite amazing! I reach the Côte des Basques (picture 1) where the trials began. Problem: the lack of waves and the first days sessions postponed.

Tonight I really enjoy the panoramic view

from Les 100 Marches, where Roxy hosted a cocktail. A bit tight in the VIP / Press square (lol!), we sit facing the sea in a cool and cosmopolitan atmosphere, with a good DJ. Back to the Grande Plage (pictures 2 and 3, where the final will be held) by the path along the sea: the scenery is outstanding! We stopped at Le Taïtu for a pizza session. Choose the terrace to avoid the super tacky decor inside! To be continued…

The Crossing from Dunkerque to Dover

I go visiting Kent. Why? Because, I only know London (surprising!) and Ms Moss has a home in Kent (oops! gossip girl, shame on me!).  And it’s summertime and I want to have a big breath of fresh air in a superb English garden. More exclusive than dancefloors in Ibiza, isn’t it? So here the pictures of my first crossing from Dunkerque to Dover, aboard the DFDS Seaways ferry. Landscapes are  really impressive. The emerald green water’s color is amazing!

Pictures 2 & 3: Bye Bye Dunkerque! Lovely natural light and dramatic clouds, I feel spoiled as a photographer. But it’s too much windy on the decks, I chill in the relaxing VIP lounge, accessible with a first class ticket.

Picturess 4 & 5: the famous White Cliffs of Dover! The frame is striking, hypnotic. White as chalk, those cliffs take a plunge in a cristallin water dark blue and emeraud green. Stonished!

Last picture: I arrive in Dover. Direction a small bay nestled in the White Cliffs : follow me there in my next post!

Infos : the Ferry FDS Seaways good deal, from 1/6 till 30/9/11 : return trip on the same day, with a passenger car (max 7 people), 29€ per car. Or 5 days return trip: from 49€ per car with max 4 people. Phone: +32 (0)2 719 90 92, www.norfolkline.com, norfolkline@fcmtravel.be.
