Vila Vita Parc, Portugal: A Luxury Suite in Algarve

We arrived in the early evening

at Vila Vita Parc under a mixed sky, after 2h30 drive. It’s raining! It seems we have left the heat in Lisbon! The Algarve is a region of southern Portugal, supposed to be more sunny than rainy.

We were dropped in karting in front of our Oasis Suite Premium Rooftop which overlooks the gardens and the main building currently under renovation (photo below).

The night falls quickly,

I can’t see the gardens. The property seems huge … Lovely surprise entering the room: beautiful orchids and flowers with a bottle of Portuguese champagne greet us!

The decoration is classic and comfortable: white walls, spotless bedding and fast wifi. There are also small fireplace and a large dressing. I feel good and enjoy the sheen of discreet luxury.

A book of the Leading Hotels of The World

whose the Vila Vita Parc is a member, is placed on a secretary. I flip through the Vila Vita Parc’s magazines, the articles of various restaurants, beaches and activities we discover tomorrow.

In the large bathroom, Villeroy & Boch sanitary and Portuguese traditional tiles and soap dish: I really like the Claus regressive packaging and excellent conditioner. Claus is a famous soap brand from Porto.

The suite has two bedrooms.

Too happy to chat about our latest adventures up more time, we fell asleep in the big bed of the main room. The second room will be a supplemental dressing room and office, LOL!

Woke up at 10am in beautiful sunshine. And here is the little building with our first floor suite and superb rooftop terrace with Moroccan lamps.

On my way to the breakfast, I discover thousand lush green plants! Green vertigo and I haven’t seen the ocean yet … To be continued ….

Tokyo, Japan: Shopping and Architecture in Roppongi

TOKYO CITY GUIDE: DISTRICT / ROPPONGI

The refined Tokyo Midtown

Incredible blue sky! I get in one of the six buildings of Tokyo Midtown, hosting the Suntory Museum of Art.

A luxury mall. Tasteful minimalist decoration, with staright light wooden and picture windows with a view to the small park. Zen feeling in the cosy atmosphere.

Comfortable leather sofas to relax between two shops (exhausting shopping, lol!). Check out the high end multibrands Restir and The Cover Nippon for refined arts and crafts: beautiful fabrics for home, ceramics and traditional bags.

For ceramics, I also recommend Asakusa small shops (a traditional district of Tokyo).

At the food level, stop at Toraya for the incredible look of the Japanese pastries (on the picture above)! I was so happy to find “my” Dean & Deluca too, soulful Soho! Could you believe it?

Then I sat in the small park under the sun. Lazy, lazy. Maybe tomorrow I’ll visit the Issey Miyake and Tadeo Ando‘s 21_21 Design Sight: “The first center in Japan dedicated to Design, where the creation process will be exhibited” (Issey Miyake).

The National Art Center Tokyo

Now I head to this amazing Museum with a glass wave front designed by the famous architect Kisho Kurukawa, located five minutes walk from Tokyo Midtown.

Relaxing bright inside, thanks to the wooden in this all glass and concrete architecture. And big surprise: the two huge concrete cones in the hall! Finally I’ve more enjoyed these cones than the beautiful front!

At the Museum shop, I found an eclectic selection of art books and various items. My fav: some sushi USB keys and traditional bags of a young fashion designer.

After four hours in the big exhibitions halls, I need fresh air, greenery and blue sky (again!), let’s move back to Tokyo Midtown. Yes, the sky is so blue!

This post that may inspire you

if you miss idea for the dinner. I’ve never eaten as much as during this short stay in Piedmont! Fortunately there is hiking to compensate! Food is excellent.

And our dinner at La Cucina, cooked by the manager of the beautiful Casa Vanni, is just spectacular (photo above)! now I understand why the Slow Food is an Italian concept. Freshness of the ingredients of the valley, fine flavors and generosity.

We feel that our hostess wants to make us happy. The meal is orgiastic with a great presentation and eight dishes! Yes! Hence many giggles, because all three of us feel out just lunch (few hours before in Antrona!). Mamma mia!
