Poland: Attending a Famous Witches Show in Kielce

Poland-Kielce-Witches Show-11-Photo Mademoiselle Le K-copyright 2013

If you ask me what I preferred my too short weekend in Poland, without hesitation I answer you: people, people, people! In Kielce, I was invited to the fourth edition of the live show “Sabat Czarowinc” (Sabat witches) in the region of witches Świętokrzyskie (Holy Cross), in the center of Poland (pictures 4 & 5). Live broadcast by TVP Polish national channel, with the cream of the Polish showbiz! Including these four trendy boys, with the unpronounceable name (sorry guys!): Kabaret Skeczów Męczących (KSM) who made me laugh a lot (picture below). No, they are not another exotic boyz band! Just four talented comedians who have revisited the famous Gangnam Style of Psy, in a Polish parody: Świętokrzyski Style (advance video to 2 minutes if you do not speak Polish)! I was in the audience stupidly jumping in the Psy way, sorry but this beat’s still made me dance (LOL!). The show ended, then I went to the private (after) party for the artists and stars who participated to the show and the organizers. The ambiant was very nice and relaxed. An exclusive nightlife for my first time in Poland!

Croatia: Beautiful Island of Krk and Crystal Clear Sea

Croatia-Krk-Istria-5-Photo Mademoiselle Le K-copyright-2013

One of the most pleasant surprises

of my trip in Croatia: the island of Krk with stunning scenery! Early in the morning, I left Opatija with the same haunting book title in mind: “The Possibility of an Island” (La possibilité d’une île) of Houellebecq … I still haven’t read it, I just like the title … Crystal clear water with emerald and ultramarine blue reflections. Just arrived, I regret not being able to stay more than one day. The island is large and one day it’s not enough to visit all.

After the historic tour of Omišalj

(this town is older than 10,000 years), the lunch in an amazing location took us too much time (coming up post)! Big-big crush for Baška. I’m captivated by the view: floating dry hills of the surrounding islets (all pictures of this post). Bad timing to find a shuttle boat to get there. In fact I even forgot to take my bikini! Perfect light in a hot late afternoon at an outdoor café overlooking the Adriatic Sea! Wow! Almost time to hit the road to Opatija, where I am invited tonight at a Croatian music hall (without subtitles). Sounds really exciting!

Shopping Design & Fashion in Zagreb, Croatia

Croatia Zagreb Shopping_1_Photo Mademoiselle Le K_copyright 2013

During my single day in Zagreb,

I chose these shops in the city center which offer either creations of Croatian designers or iconic products that have conquered the world, as the tie, Gentlemen! I started to work in menswear (lol)! In short, no need to come shopping in Zagreb, to spin at the same global brands you can find at home!!

1. Modus

An accessory shop for home design. Mix of international brands and Croatian designers. I liked the tote bags (first picture): very cool souvenirs to bring as gifts. The picture 2 shows the Zagreb Design Week poster … Tkalčićeva 48, zagreb. Tel : +385 14 81 3470.

2. Maks Studio

I don’t have a particular shop or market. I’ve just liked a lot the traditional embroidered blouses. I didn’t had time to find a shop with homemade blouses and gowns made in Croatia. If you know some, send me an email or leave a comment.

5. Croata

In an old gallery in central Zagreb (picture 1), I discovered the origin of the tie at the Salon Croata. When the Croatian Light Cavalry went to Paris during the Thirty Years’ War (1618-1648), soldiers “used to tie lively-coloured scarves around their necks in a certain way”. And during the reign of Louis XIV, Parisians really enjoyed this new fashion accessory “in the Croatian way”. Subsequently, as you know, the cravat has become global ; ) Ilica 5 (Oktogon). Tel : +385 (1) 4812-726.
