Tusita Resort & Spa: A Charming Hotel in Chumphon

By late afternoon, after a long long road we finally stop

at Tusita Resort & Spa in Chumphon. This is a good option for those who decide to rent a car and drive from Bangkok to Phuket or the south of Thailand in general. The entrance of the hotel is awsome, with a Thai traditional decoration.

In my room, the decoration is also really nice. Too bad that many details are outdated. Undoubtedly, the whole has a certain charm, but deserves a little refreshment to add a modern touch (pictures 1 & 2).

The bed is very comfortable and honestly it was SO hard to leave it in the morning! This is a good point (LOL!). The bathroom is large and clean, with a big shower and no bathtub. Not a problem for me, I don’t use bathtub. As I only stayed here one night, I did not have the time to swim, or just relax by the pool (picture 3).

Could you imagine, having a pool in front your room and not using it? The setting is very relaxing and exotic, with the profusion of plants, palm trees, teck furnitures and decorative elements with elephants carved in stone (pictures 4 & 5). But it was impossible to enjoy it, mostly because of mosquitoes massive attacks!

I had the same problem in some places in Poland! Quite amazing mosquitoes in Poland, isn’t it? For ending this review of the Tusita Resort & Spa: the other asset of the hotel is its proximity to the Pak Tao estuary, to visit the fishermen in early the morning. After exercise

(or how to overcome the pervasive macaques of the Klongkone Mangrove Conservation Centre!), time to relax (lololol!). I try whenever I can different massages: I remain an absolute unconditional of intensive traditional Thai massage!

Especially without oil nor any wellness marketing blablabla! Therapeutic, it worked on stretching. Not always pleasant for and sometimes even really painful for those muscles that I never do work!

The next day, it is a bless, the body relaxes as relieved of its weight. Especially when you have back problem. Believe me, I have back problem, because of the heavy camera equipment … not to mention the laptop, jetlag, stress and all the rest! Modern life!

Impossible for me not to experience Thai massage in the nicely decorated spa of the Baan Amphawa Resort & Spa (pictures 1, 2 and 3). A charming hotel where we spend tonight (rooms need to be renovated, but lovely breakfast). Not necesseray to mention that in Amphawa, there is not a plethora of hotels!

Upon arrival at the spa, you will feel pampered. Immediately my masseuse leads me to a large room, with tobacco walls and comfortable dark wood floors, all is calm. Too bad that the air conditioning is too strong, as always in hot countries!

After worn an unmatched comfort Thai fisherman pants with a beige linen blouse, my masseuse magically reappears. And then we move on to serious business: THE massage!

After a painful intense work on muscle tensions, the massage becomes more fluid and I dozed. When a sweet voice wakes me up to offer me a cup of jasmine tea, it’s over!

The massage lasted an hour and I am completely woozy, ready to jump into my bed to sleep the next 48 hours! Back to reality Mademoiselle Le K! Forget it immediately: tonight is Visakha Bucha Day, the celebration of the birth, enlightenment and entry into Nirvana of Buddha.

Thailand, Klongkone Mangrove Conservation Centre

After the plane, a mini bus and trainspotting break,

here I am in a Thai boat through the mangroves along a channel where the river flows into the sea! Yep, sounds amazing!

Welcome to Klongkone Mangrove Conservation Centre! Some residents quite intrusive spy us : omnivores macaques with sharp canines. These greedy monkeys are eager for our guide’s bananas, coming very close. Too much for my taste! I do not like them! In addition, they swim great and that move in groups! Lololol (pictures 2 and 3).

On the opposite bank, we pass fishermen masked for protection from the sun (pictures 1 and 4), making fishing for mussels (mussel farming). The look is really impressive. Once arrived at sea, we are heading to a fishermen’s shelter for lunch, standing off in the middle of nowhere (picture 5).

Acrobatic arrival (picture 6), but the setting is awsome! Soothing, I dream of a hammock (picture 7). And I recommend to all those who do not like seafood, to bring a snack. Because that menu is seafood and seafood and shrimps, clams, crabs …

I make some snapshots of the incredible tattoos of the driver of our boat (pictures 8 and 9). Time flies, it’s already time to go back: sea, river, mangrove and minibus till the next stop, a Thai massage at the Baan Amphawa Resort & Spa. The hotel where we will spend the night.
