A day full of discoveries
So when we set off this morning to Nausicaà, le Centre National de la Mer (the National Sea Centre) to discover the various aquariums and their wide variety of fish (and more!), it was a treat for everyone, from the youngest (a 3 year old) to the oldest. We know we will be amazed. Heading to Boulogne-sur-Mer (in France), with a few stops to glimpse the beautiful coastline of the Côte d’Opale. The drive is scenic. When we finally arrive at Nausicaà, it’s incredibly crowded!
We began our visit
with a series of less crowded aquariums. What a treat! Wide-eyed, the youngest, comfortably seated in his stroller, first discovered a ballet of jellyfish. Further on, in a tunnel-shaped aquarium, the coming and going of sharks above his head mesmerized him: “Sharks! Sharks!”. Near the tanks, the turtles also captivated him. In the end, we didn’t regret bringing the stroller: little ones get tired quickly, even though it wasn’t always easy to navigate between the different areas.
Absolutely For Everyone!
You don’t need to be an ocean or marine biodiversity enthusiast to have a wonderful time in Nausicaà. The National Sea Centre’s mission is to spark visitors’ curiosity about the marine world. Young and old alike can learn a wealth of information while observing different species. We then continue our exploration, patiently standing in a (never-ending) line to see the highlight of the visit: the spectacular giant aquarium! We leave this visit with stars in our eyes. A small detour to the gift shop, where our little gentleman found his new great friend — a small plush manta ray!
