Tusita Resort & Spa: A Charming Hotel in Chumphon

By late afternoon, after a long long road we finally stop

at Tusita Resort & Spa in Chumphon. This is a good option for those who decide to rent a car and drive from Bangkok to Phuket or the south of Thailand in general. The entrance of the hotel is awsome, with a Thai traditional decoration.

In my room, the decoration is also really nice. Too bad that many details are outdated. Undoubtedly, the whole has a certain charm, but deserves a little refreshment to add a modern touch (pictures 1 & 2).

The bed is very comfortable and honestly it was SO hard to leave it in the morning! This is a good point (LOL!). The bathroom is large and clean, with a big shower and no bathtub. Not a problem for me, I don’t use bathtub. As I only stayed here one night, I did not have the time to swim, or just relax by the pool (picture 3).

Could you imagine, having a pool in front your room and not using it? The setting is very relaxing and exotic, with the profusion of plants, palm trees, teck furnitures and decorative elements with elephants carved in stone (pictures 4 & 5). But it was impossible to enjoy it, mostly because of mosquitoes massive attacks!

I had the same problem in some places in Poland! Quite amazing mosquitoes in Poland, isn’t it? For ending this review of the Tusita Resort & Spa: the other asset of the hotel is its proximity to the Pak Tao estuary, to visit the fishermen in early the morning. And watch the return of the fishing : maybe see you there? To be continued in my next post …

Castel Fragsburg: Fantastic Gourmet Restaurant

The road narrows into tight laces,

lined with vineyards, for your viewing pleasure! The restaurant’s charming Castel Fragsburg nestled atop a mountain, offers a panoramic on a bucolic landscape and the stonished Dolomites.

Simple, elegant and timeless, the atmosphere reminds me of the famous Dejeuner sur l’herbe of Renoir. I feel good, so I could spend hours on the terrace. With a good book under the shade of trees, lulled by a gentle breeze …

What choosing? A sparkling water followed by divine staters. Originality of tastes and textures and beautiful presentation. An unique mustard ice cream (picture 2). My plates look like paintings.

The presention is neat and airy,

with small proportions. I like the balance between solids and voids in a plate. The smiling staff is really professional, present without being intrusive. The main course is a succulent fish on a bed of black rice. Light and tasty.

More salty than sweet, I didn’t taste the desserts, but I like the concept of dark chocolate sticks with salty popcorn (picture 3). Very regressive!

I finish the meal with a great passion fruit tea (picture 4)! My gaze rests on a couch by the pool: now the farniente (or the “doing absolutely nothing” art) is calling me! Enjoy the break!

Many thanks for this beautiful invitation to Suedtirol and Lufthansa. And thanks to the chef Luis Haller and his great team too. As always these opinions are my own.

Les Etangs De Corot: The Bucolic Hotel Near Paris

Following my previous post

about the Paul and Joe’s Suite in the hotel Les Etangs de Corots : here the outsides I really enjoyed. A sweet incentive to contemplation and farniente (yes, just doing nothing!). Yes, even the fashion addict in me, needs relaxing breaks (lol!). The iPod plays Zara McFarlane (a London jazzy discovery, in a coming-up post).

Picture 1 : like in the South of de France (and Marcel Pagnol’s books), I feel totally de-stressed and so far away from the Paris cacophony (a bless!). Picture 2 : the room balcony calming view of ponds. Picture 3 : a listed guinguette from the late 19th or the beginning of the 20th century! Like in Renoir ou Carné’s movies with Arletty (a famous French actress and muse). Pictue 4 : the sleek covered deck of Café des Artistes, for a tasteful lunch, chatting with another ardent traveler, Pauline Pawlowski (last picture 5). I gave you this charming adress, please kept it confidential!
