My Beauty Routine in Japan

A Cologne in Tokyo

I like to associate a fragrance with a trip. So for my last trip to Japan, I took with me one of the Hermès latest creations, the Eau de Citron Noir created by the nose Christine Nagel. I was immediately intrigued, because I love citrus scents (like yuzu, grapefruit and lemon) and I’m huge fane of Le Jardin de Mr. Li of Hermès.

“Citrus caviar, Buddha’s hand citrus, Eureka lemon …So many original lemons have challenged me, but it is the black lemon, so smoky, so racy, which finally became the one” explains Christine Nagel. Lemon is a lime put in brine and then dried, hence its brown color. Iran’s black lemon is a traditional condiment of Persian and Middle Eastern cuisines. Present in many dishes, its scent is rich with fresh and powerful notes of traditional lemon, but also sweeter.

During this trip I was a lot outdoors. And I especially wore this Cologne at night. I found it both light and a little “dense” without being ostentatious. Perfect for dining in an intimate place. This unisex fragrance has a beautiful dark blue glass bottle. Simple and so chic!

The Skin Cares

While Traveling,

I try to take only essential: multifunctional nomadic products focused mainly hydration.

On the photo above taken at Hakone Suishoen (near Fuji san): the awesome Decléor Aroma Cleanse 3-in-1 Hydra Radiance Cleasing Mousse with Neroli essential oil. I mainly use this delicate melty cream that effectively and smoothly cleanses (including sunscreen) at night. It rinses with water. Surprinsingly, my sensitive skin had no problem with the Neroli essential oil.

In the morning, Uriage’s Light Water Cream SPF20 is refreshing (yes!), antipollution and very pleasant when my combination skin overheats. Light enough to then apply sunscreen without gleaming like a sardine. I alternate with the excellent Uriage’s Fluide HYSÉAC SPF50+ (photo 2 below). As a day serum with hyaluronic acid to boost hydration: The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5. Moreover it gave me very much want to test other products of The Ordinary and Deciem (to follow …).

In the evening, after cleansing my skin and using an essence, I apply a thick layer of Qiriness Wrap d’Eau Baume Extreme Moisture Balm, a velvety gel-cream texture mask with algae, plants, watermelon, white flowers and lipids. Very very fresh (thanks to its gel texture) and super moisturizing. I go to bed without rinsing and the next day, using a damp cotton I remove the excess product. My skin is plumped and bright, ready to welcome the care of the day.

Dans l’avion

Sheet maks, yes please!

As any self-respecting beautista (lol!), I took a slew of face, eye, hand and leg sheet masks for my long flights back and forth between Brussels and Japan. And my favorites are: Qiriness Wrap Yeux Hyal-Eclat Eyes Radiant Eye Patches including vitamin B3, gold, caffeine, green tea, hyaluronic acid, rooibos and Aloe Vera (for the best known ingredients). In short, a dressing for my dark circles!

I also really like the Qiriness Wrap Mains Hydra-Repair Masque Soft & Smooth Hand Mask with (among other ingredients): Hyaluronic Acid, Macadamia Oil Nut and Shea Butter, Grapefruit, Honey and Vitamin E (pictured above). As I wash my hands very often, they are super dry. This mask soothes and nourishes them deeply. They look better and feel more comfortable!

Four Seasons Resort Seychelles in Mahe

Relaxing at The Four Seasons Resort Seychelles

My Favorite Resort

of this first stay in the Seychelles to totally feel cut off from the world! Everything is just magical in this hotel: the landscape, architecture of the villas that blends into the nature, welcome, service and view from wherever you are … the spa and yoga to feel more beautiful from the inside! I’d already presented you to the excellent Four Seasons Sayan – Ubud Bali spa

And I dream that the experience lasts forever too (lol)!

My Gorgeous Villa

The Infinite Pool

I am delighted to stay in a (2,002 sq. ft.) Serenity Villa overlooking the Indian Ocean, white sand beach and tropical forest. Blue, white and green colors as far as the eye can see! Wow …

I love the awesome “Hollywood” bathroom and infinity pool where I spend a lot of time (first photo of the article, picture on the right above and second photo below).

The Bathroom

I’m always impressed

by the attention to detail of the Four Seasons. Beyond an elegant interior design, there is a great mastery of comfort that anticipate all of the our needs as guests! Chic and practical

The Room

Yes, Getting Out Of Bed Is A Real Challenge!

But as soon as the curtains are wide open, the amazing sight attracts me on terrace (picture below). And I admire the sunrise … and remain hours to contemplate the infinite horizon! Meditation of a hyperactive!

The Breakfast

The ZEZ Restaurant

I go down to the ZEZ located near the beach, in a nice flowery golf cart for having the breakfast (photo 1 of the assembly above). I like how the buffet is presented with a bagel tree, croissants and breads with chocolate as good as in France! The choice is much more extensive!

True to my versatile (lol) routine of the moment: today I choice a fried egg with a delicious fresh watermelon juice and green tea!

The Beach

During the hottest hours,

I prefer stay under the covered terracce and plunge in the pool of my villa. It’s also quieter without the children’s cries. I wait until the late afternoon to go swimming in the turquoise water of the Indian Ocean. No more children, no overwhelming sunshine, just a few couples or groups of friends and superb brightness. And I do a contemplative walk on the fine sand.

Then back to the villa, a shower and I go dinner with friends at the Kannel restaurant that serves delicious creole specialties from Seychelles and my chocolate – coconut ice cream (photos below).

The Spa

Oops, I Couldn’t Stop By The Spa Without Testing A Treatment!

In Bali, I experienced a fantastic massage inspired by Tibetan techniques. In the Seychelles, I discover the healing virtues of yoga, thanks to my excellent teacher, Ganga Sadhuka (photos below).

In a dream setting, I gently practiced postures with legs in the air, to rest my organs! Impressive and deeply relaxing! Far away from the exaggerated acrobatic demonstrations of the trendy yogi gurus on Instagram!

To help me to continue practicing when I will be back home, Ganga elaborated a yoga program with the postures related to my needs. Tailor-made yoga! Namaste.

Travel Begins With a Good Travel Insurance

Travel_Blogger_Photo_Mademoiselle_Le_K_copyright_2014

Okay everyone is not a travel blogger,

but I’m sure many of you have already thought what follows.

While sitting on the plane to Bangkok, as part of an itinerant blog trip in nature reserves, I suddenly clicked! What about if I had an accident there … I don’t know … injured by wild animals (yes could happens!), or a bad fall in a treck … and so on…

A stupid or crazy stuff totally improbable that can cost a fortune even with a good health insurance! And then I panic, I didn’t suscribe any travel insurance! Of course landing at Bangkok, I forget everything to focus on my pictures and notes. Fortunately the travel was uneventful.

Few more blog trips later, still not assured and less and less reassured, when I meet by chance Allianz Global Assistance, I found it was as a clear sign of destiny ; )

What kind of travel insurance to purchase?

Answer: What kind of traveler are you?

It depends on how often you travel. If you go on business trips or family holidays, if you study abroad, or go like a digital nomad or for a several months sabbatical … If you practice or not extreme sports, will visit the natural risk zones etc …

Time travel insurance or annual travel insurance

As a travel blogger, I chose the World Gold Protection, an annual travel insurance really complete that covers me during my travels around the world. To which, it is recommended to add before departure, the natural disasters, strikes and terrorism option of 8 €. This option is only available with a World Gold Protection or Top Selection insurance.

How_Much_Photo_Mademoiselle_Le_K_copyright_2014

How much does it cost?

Here are some examples of prices in relation to the World Gold Protection which is the most comprehensive annual travel insurance of Allianz Global Assistance :

– Going over 3 months. You are a student and participate in a 6 months Erasmus exchange in South Africa. The World Gold Protection will cost 285 €. Plus for the remaining three months , an extra 40 € or 3 x 40 €. Total: 405 €.

– You plan a world tour boat with your family during 12 months. The annual insurance for the whole family is 350 €, so it would be 350 € + (9 x 40 €) or 710 €.

To get an estimate of the price compared to your needs, the best is yet to make an estimate of Allianz Global Assistance.
