Herôme: Beautiful Nails

Dear polish addicts, let’s talk about nails first!

Here one of my favourite nail care products : the Nail Hardener Strong of Herôme, for extremely soft nails. If you feel desperate to have strong long nails : try this nail hardener during 14 days. You’ll be amazed.

How does it work? I apply one thin coat on day one and a second coat an day two. And I remove both coats with the Caring Nail Polish Remover (lightly greasy) on day three. And I repeat these steps during two weeks. As the nail hardener looks like a clear nail polish, we keep lovely hands. It’s easy, fast and efficient.

After two weeks, my nails are ready for the red nail polish application (I don’t like nails too long). And it’s awesome! The goodies, better to leave the nail hardener in the fridge to keep it fluid. From time to time I can use other nails treatments based on need.

When my nails are very dry and brittle, I forget polish (how could it be possible? Lol!) to massage the Nourishing Nail Oils into the nails and cuticules at night (during two weeks). Or when I just want to speed up the growth of my nails,  I apply one drop of Nail Growth Explosion onto each nail during two weeksAnd then I can enjoy my red polish!

The Spa Villa Ioma Esthetics in Paris : The Expert Facial Treatment

Look carefully at the picture above : have you noticed it?

Yes on the left side, the strange device shaped like a futuristic helmet in a Stanley Kubrick’s movie. Let me intro Ioma Sphere! First step of my face treatment @ the Spa Villa Ioma Esthetics: the diagnostic realized by the “imaging and skin analysis device” created and patented by the French Ioma laboratories.

So I put my face into the white box (picture 2). And I close my eyes while the device takes five pictures  of my face in different light. Those pictures will help the practioner to make a serious diagnostic, “according to the seven whose skin imperfections may suffer (I quote) : 1, dry skin and UV damage, 2, fine lines, 3, wrinkles and tightness… and 7, pigment spots. Believe me those pictures are terribly unsexy (picture 3).

My practioner, Laetitia leads me to the treatment room (picture 4), where another devices, the Ioma Beauty Diag will complete the first diagnostic. Before applying the skin care products, Laetitia passes a transducer over my face, to check further what my skin needs (macro picture like echographique image). She will do it again at the end of the treatment to check whether there has been improvement. I am very surprised to hear my skin is really really dry and undermoisturized!

After a deep peeling, I felt sleeping during the relaxing massage. I woke up with a skin perfectly clean and light. Laetitia gives me a paper with the results recorded by the machine, in the form of sketches and diagrams. There is  an improvement in the hydration. And I also receive a prescription of the Ioma products to use daily (paraben-free, fragrance-free, formulated and tested in dermatology). I recommend this high tech face treatment to perfectionists.

Park Hyatt Tokyo: Meeting with Philippe Roux-Dessarps

The lift stops at the 52nd  floor,

I’m heading for the New York Bar. Yes, the smart bar of Sofia Coppola’s « Lost of Translation » (pictures 1 & 2)!

Jazzy atmosphere, fascinating hypnotic view from the sky of an endlessly Tokyo, the feeling is unreal. In the penumbra enhanced with indirect lights, a smiling waitress leads me.

I have a meeting with Philippe Roux-Dessarps, the General Manager of the Park Haytt Tokyo that occupies the top 14 floors of the Shinjuku Park Tower (last picture), designed by the famous Kenzo Tange, father of modern Japanese architecture.

Everyday I ask my team : how did you surprise a client today?

We have varied customers (50% are leisure customers), lots of regular customers looking for a particular atmosphere and enjoying the intimacy of the hotel.

– Can you explain why we feel like in a cocoon in the Park Hyatt Tokyo?

– The staff humility. And we have few rooms : with 178 rooms, the hotel is intimate by Asian standards. And we don’t have a business atmosphere. The timeless design too : the Park Hyatt Tokyo has been an established hotel for 16 years. John Morford designed the interiors to feel like in a small elegant, personal, residence.

–  What is your next goal?

– Staying open to the next generations too. Staying modern without becoming gadget!

Here are the pictures of my favorite spaces.

At the 40th floor, I really enjoy the delicious Japanese cooking and the fantastic view of Fuji San, in Kozue restaurant (picture 3). I had a big crush on the superb earthenware plates and dishes created by craftsmen throughout Japan.

Peaceful atmosphere in the Library: a choice of 2000 books about arts, history, cultures and dictionaries (picture 4). Where the light is magic in late afternoon, when the sun falls down behind Fuji San (pictures above & below).

Great details: reproductions of Fellini’s draws

in the cozy corridors leading to the rooms, spa and swimming pool (picture above & below).

At the 47th floor, the 65 feet (20 meters) swimming pool

At least a hotel swimming pool where we can swim… looking down on Tokyo, with a sunrise or sunset light : exhilarating!

In the Spa I could stay hours and hours, between whirlpools, wet and dry saunas, cold plunge pools and 360 degree body showers… treatment rooms and relaxation rooms, with in the background the panoramic view (picture below).

Every single detail is tidily thought: from the excellent Australian products ASEOP, to the ladies razors in the showers, to stay perfect in the country of the perfection.
