Saint-Emilion Village in France

Another idea

for an early fall week-end (I know we just are at the end of August!), a postcard destination really close: the charming village of Saint-Emilion (in France).

I discovered Bordeaux and its region several months ago and now I’m a huge fan. Beyond the vineyards and the famous wine’s appellation, you defenitely have to visit the medieval village of Saint-Emilion!

A really exciting place with its imposing monolithic church, the largest in Europe (pictures 2, 3 & 4) with more than 70 hectares of underground tunnels dug into the limestone. Not to be missed, this is absolutely awesome!

East Sussex, UK: A Walk In The Old City Of Hastings

A post for all those looking a different destination for a relaxing weekend : here is Hastings in East Sussex, England. Forget immediatly your party animal temper to switch to “a deep seaside breath” only. I recommend the hyperactive, a homeopathic dose of two days, no more. Enjoy the pictures in my tour of the old town of Hastings. Picture 1: view down to the fishing area, with the amazing Net shops (picture 2), black wooden huts erected in height, where fishermen traditionally ranked their nets and fishing equipment. Absolutely new for me! Near the net shops, I also discover @ the Jerwood Gallery, some British painters of the 20th century and 21st (post to come). Pictures 3 & 4: typical narrow street of the old Hastings leads to an English gardens! Then I reach some shopping streets, with many small antique shops, full of miscellaneous objects completely surreal, like in “The Advengers” (last picture).

Informations : to go to Hastings by Ferry FDS Seaways from  Dunkerque to Dover, www.norfolkline.com, www.visit1066country.com.

Antwerp, Belgium: My Shopping Selection @ Ra and Nadine Wijnants

I haven’t shopped for ages in Antwerp. What a shock! Many “new” top fashion designers during my first visit to the famous concept store Ra. Months ago, I met Romain Brau the owner of Ra at the Customisez Moi party in Brussels. In Kloosterstraat, while I admired these two great silver rings (pictures 3 & 4) in the window of the  jewelry designer Nadine Wijnants, I see by chance the concept store Ra! Where I discovered the “multidimensional” shoes of the talented Yuima Nakazato (pictures 1 & 2), graduated from the Antwerp Academy and the shoes designer of Lady Gaga. I recommend you this Dazed Digital interview of the Tokyo young designer. I also loved the fringed biker in pastel colors, Farfetch (last picture). Well Antwerp remains an exciting laboratory for fashion.
