Saint-Emilion Village in France

Another idea

for an early fall week-end (I know we just are at the end of August!), a postcard destination really close: the charming village of Saint-Emilion (in France).

I discovered Bordeaux and its region several months ago and now I’m a huge fan. Beyond the vineyards and the famous wine’s appellation, you defenitely have to visit the medieval village of Saint-Emilion!

A really exciting place with its imposing monolithic church, the largest in Europe (pictures 2, 3 & 4) with more than 70 hectares of underground tunnels dug into the limestone. Not to be missed, this is absolutely awesome!

Autre idée de week-end

Pour le début de l’automne (je sais, on finit à peine le mois d’Août!), voici une destination proche et très “carte postale” : le village de Saint-Emilion (en France).

J’ai découvert Bordeaux et sa région, il y a plusieurs mois et j’en suis devenue fane. Au-delà du vignoble et de la célèbre appellation, la visite du village médiéval de Saint Emilion s’avère surprenante et excitante.

A commencer par son imposante église monolithique, la plus vaste d’Europe (Photos 2, 3 & 4) : plus de 70 hectares de galeries souterraines creusées dans la roche calcaire. A découvrir absolument, c’est juste impressionnant!

Bordeaux, France: Wines & Design @ Ad Francos

Ad Francos (“To Francs”) is a vineyard, with a stylish castel and wine storehouse. The Belgian current owners, Viviane and André Vossen, have mixed with sobriety and refinement, design and heritage. I really liked the view on the vines, the round inner courtyard and wine storehouses very uncluttered. To produce Great Wines (appellation : Francs-Côtes de Bordeaux), the owners appealed to the oenologist Michel Rolland. It is possible to schedule visits on R.V.
