Kent, UK: Biking in Whitestable

Keeping its authenticity, Whitestable is a very chic seaside resort for Londoners. A big crush for the “very stylish” seaside to discover by bike, under a blue blue sky today: lucky me! I’ve always loved sheds and I want this one (picture below)!

Back to the Harbour hosts the main attractions of the Whitestable Oyster Festival, in a friendly ambiance. Between us, I really do not like oysters (lol!).

Lovely cottages with a fantastic sea view, most of them are Londoner’s properties. Maybe I will try some sailing, I love sailing. Okay,  let’s meet later, in my coming-up post for a bit of shopping in Whitestable…

Kent, Angleterre: Whitestable à bicyclette

Whitestable est une petite station balnéaire chic et prisée des londoniens qui a su garder son authenticité. Un vrai coup de foudre pour son “very stylish” bord de mer à découvrir en vélo, sous un ciel bleu bleu, top! N’oubliez pas on roule à gauche! J’ai toujours eu un failble pour les cabanons et j’ai complétement craqué pour celui ci-dessous! Je veux le même!!! 

Retour vers le Harbour, où le Whitestable Oyster Festival (le Festival de l’huître de Whitestable) bat son plein. Ambiance conviviale et très laid back, même si j’aime pas (mais pas du tout) les huîtres (lol!).

Superbes petites maisons avec vue sur la mer, la plupart appartiennent à des londonniens. Je continue ma promenade à pieds, je tenterai bien un peu de voile. Ok on se retrouve après, dans un prochain post pour une séance shopping dans Whitestable…

Kent, UK: A walk in Sandwich

After the exceptional gardens of Walmer Castel, let’s stroll in the picturesque small streets of  Sandwich. Look at the first picture, don’t you feel like being in the episodes of The Avengers! Lovely! Sandwich is a medieval town of Kent that used to be the most important port of England between the eleventh and thirteenth centuries. The Saxon orign’s name of Sandwich meant sandy place, or the place on the sand. But what about Sandwich the food? Well, circa 1762, John Montagu,  the Earl of Sandwich and a burnt-out gambler, invented the sandwich. The legendary says while he was playing an endless game of cards, he asked for something to eat. The cook prepared him meat and cheese between bread to keep his hands clean. And our sandwich friend was born! Next stop : Whitestable’s seaside… sounds exciting too!
