Marni and Ladurée: For a Lavish Macaroon

Marni Ladurée

Is the greed a fault? Nonsense!

In such lovely boxes, created in limited edition for Ladurée, by Consuelo Castiglioni, the fashion designer of Marni, those macaroons are so tempting!

XXS sized fashion victims:  forget them! For the others: let’s ourselves be tempted! What a great idea!

From December the 1rst in Ladurée’s shops in Paris, London, Dublin, Tokyo and Switzerland.

Shopping in Tokyo

For packaging lovers: a Tokyo shopping of everyday objects. Forget your Transformers, for this inflatable balloon: a light, disposable and 100% friendly must have. Better than Aibo!

Nice guys those brooms! Girly pink colour for the young housewifes, under 50 years old. Course, the concept is absolutely not sexist at all! Still for girls only (gomenasai ladies!): housework aerodynamic “shoes”. I don’t know for you, but for me: no way!

More “Easy” or “Irritated”? Irritated looks really cool! Sorry kids, I keep those small cuddly toys for me!

Wow! The second picture of tinting packaging reminds me a Corean melo soap. Have you noticed how serious and absolutely not sexy are the married couples tinting boxes? What’s the most frightening in this packaging concept: the depressive marketing’s view of 30’s years old couples, or having “already” white hair, or having the same tinting husband and wife, or both? What about a golden glitter domino to bring back a bit of imaginativeness?

Shisheido in “supa” (supermarket)! Next: expensive crazy sushi USB keys.

Antwerp: “Paper Fashion” Exhibition at MoMu, the Fashion Museum

Till August the 16th 2009, at the Antwerp Fashion Museum, MoMu: “Paper Fashion“. A samll museum with really refined exhibitions. Who’s ever known Tapa? Me absolutely not! Tapa is the pioneer of paper, made by the Ituri, Pygmy of Congo. Matter softer than Papyrus, painted by women under hallucinogenics. Wow! A resume of men history in an exhibition gathering pop art, artists, fashion designers, restoration of Japanese Edo era’s clothes etc… A real pleasure! The scenography is simple and fun. An eclectic walk in times and cultures for our eyes. « Light » as a sheet of paper! And for all like me who doesn’t read captions at exhibitions, enjoy reading the small booklet at a table outside, under the spring sunshine! Quick and interesting! MoMu: Nationalstraat28/B, 2000 Antwerp

The letter: “Airmail Dress”, Hussein Chalayan

The underground: Travis Hutchison’s pictures

Pleats: Issey Myake’s “8 Dresses In Pleats Paper”

Poetry: “Uptown NY”, Allen Ginsberg

The tribute: to Anna Piaggi (dress: JCDC, cape: Angela et Giovanni Grimoldi, hat: Stephen Jones and vintage stick)

The restoration: Edo era Kamiko coat, Japan

Pop animals… Lost the caption: Mademoiselle you‘re not seroius!

Sixties: Fancy Color, dress to color (inspired by Warhol and Nico)

The symbol: Twins Towers, picture of Sara Caplan
