VOGUE Fashion’s Night Out: Marni in Paris etc…

Tribute to serial shoppers: here the exclusive designs of Marni’s bags and doll for the VOGUE Fashion’s Night Out. Next September 10, the international editions of VOGUE are partnering with designers, to create you an evening of an extravaganza shopping (thanks to recession) around the world: in Paris, New York, London, Milan, Tokyo, Berlin, Madrid, Moscow, Athens, New Delhi, Sao Paulo, Beijing and Taiwan. For example: the VOGUE Paris will organise events in the gorgeous avenue Montaigne, rue François 1er and avenue Georges V. Maybe you’ll have a chat with Carine Roitfeld about the ultimate trends. Or discover the exhibition of Jil Sander’s photos published in VOGUE for 30 years, in Jil Sander‘s shop. Then enjoy a cocktail at Diane von Furstenberg’s and continue at… What night!

Los Angeles: The Getty Museum

– Hi there ! Today I experience a new way to present you my crushes. A sort of visual written cast, what a concept! Lol! He is Glen, 100% Californian and I’m Mademoiselle Le K, 100% Parisian traveler. We are at The Getty museum of Los Angeles, located on the top of a hill. We liked a lot the architecture and gardens. Not necessary to precise you: permanent collections and exhibitions are impressive. Starting with this French strange clock! Such ugly as I could like it!

Better to list buildings and halls and exhibitions and periods: there are too much and quickly we get tired.  I’d like to make you discover this astonished museum just walking by luck from indoor to outdoor. How could it be possible to stay inside with this incredible light? Huge perspectives and huge panorama! And refined details. You go up and down. Many stairs, like steps with the personal coach!

Huge alcove and I feel like shrunk under the Californian sky!

The Alice in Wonderland’s gardens!

Convinced by this summary? Plan half a day for your first visit. And we are preparing you a following revue of the rich L.A. museum. Here “we” do love arts too! Thanks Glen!

Mayfair, London: Shopping & Art

Green break, breathing and eating under trees in the peaceful atmosphere. A small park, near the famous department store Selfridges, windows are amazing!

Far from big arteries, getting lost in a maze of picturesque charming small streets, I feel comfortable. By chance, I discover  the Paul Smith Sale Shop: 40% discount on the previous collection, excellent address for men.

Paul Smith Sale Shop: 23 Avery Row, London W1X 9HB, England. Tel : + 44 (0)20 7493 1287

Enjoyable tables outside in small squares surrounded by discrete luxury shops, cosy diktat, uplifting.

I want this bunch of flowers (tall as me), delivered at Sotheby’s! I’m jealous: is there any “Snob Party at the Princess”?

Surprise surprise: still on the very chic New Bond Street, in a formal art gallery, “The Drawn Blank Series”, the exhibition of Bob Dylan’s draws and paintings. I cheer his visual attraction for backs.

On the road to the Dover Street Market (coming up post), the Rei Kawakubo’s concept shop, the visionary stylist of Comme des Garçons. Yes you’re right, not exactly the location for sourcing! But it’s like going to Colette in Paris or Via Como in Milan ! Absolutely considered to be essential ! I like this street (pictures below), that remains me « The Avengers ». I’m a big fan of Mrs Peel. And Steed as well.

After meeting Karl (Lagerfeld) at the Dover Street Market, I’m more in a gallery mood then shopping: here two master pieces I really like. Now I’ve to rush to Picadilly at Fortnum and Mason, a short of Brit Hediard, specialized in teas, before the closing hour.
