Eclectique: Meeting Elisabeth Lefebvre

– Press provides women with stupid things only! says Elisabeth Lefebvre, the editorial director of the new French women’s magazine, Eclectique. Today, the third issue is on newsstands.

– I receive messages of readers saying “At last: a magazine without celebs!”. Eclectique is for women  with a higher level of education. And women who are accustomed to read the financial press and the women’s press. To every curious girls who need aestheticism and clever content. It’s a paper that respects its readers, “the latest trends far from diktats”. With Anne Lefèvre, my accomplice for many years, we’ve wondered : what can we offer?

For 30 years, Elisabeth’s created about fifteen magazines, most of them became  really famous, like Côté Sud, Côté Ouest, Côté Est. She’s always kept the same principle : “never doing the same thing than the others. I am a free electron“. Young mother, she launches “Enfants Magazine still existing today“. In 1980, Elisabeth is an active woman and she doesn’t find a magazine that represents the active women like her. So she creates : “Biba, the first magazine of women working and enjoying it!“. In the 90’s, when she has her house built in the South of France, she releases Côté Sud (one of the best lifestyle and decoration magazines around the world!) : “Thanks to Côté Sud, I’ve discovered a lot about the South I didn’t know before“. And she launches Côté Ouest in 94, and Côté Est, in 99. Then Atmosphère, “the first

women’s magazine of the art of living“. She sells all of her magazines and creates in 2007, JV for the French who live in Belgium and the Belgian who like France. The list is impressive!

It is with deep humility Elisabeth answers :

– I feel more like a potential reader than a journalist. I do love my job. A job of curiosity that allows to defend my own values :  roots, authenticity, curiosity and travels. In life, we are eclectic. And even more so when we travel. I like everything and I’m not only “luxury” or “adventure”.

Elisabeth and Anne have questioned the evolution of society :

– The big change is the globalisation. Today women are turning to overseas, they are more European than Franco-French. We see a big desire to leave Paris, due to the cost of property and the quality of life and the cultural life’s rebirth of  provincial towns. The crisis has trivialized Tanguy’s phenomenon, family is a a crossroads of generations helping each other in a network. There is a total lack of the 50 years old women’s representation in the press.

Eclectique is transgenerational. In each issue, we discover the portrait of a woman who is “a model of intelligence and sensitivity“. In the issue out today, the Eclectique Woman is Patricia Tartour, a pioneer of travels in China and the founder of Maison de la Chine (a travel agency).

– We want to show exclusive subjects. For exemple for travel topics, I like the relationship between travel and literature. I also look for aesthetim in photos. Eclectique is a small refine magazine, a niche magazine like Côté Sud, trying to accomodate its readers. A lifestyle women’s magazine.

Many thanks Elisabeth! Today, the Eclectique third issue is on newsstands in France, Belgium and Switzerland.

Phytospecific: The Perfect Home Treatment

After a complete diagnostic at Univers Phyto, I’ve received my prescription of 4… in fact 5 products!

If you’ve already known how difficult it is taking care of fragile dry hair, you’ll agree to get a shiny beautiful hair : first we need to find great hair products! In a previous post, I wrote about my haute couture relaxer experience in the Univers Phyto (in Paris).

Since then, I’ve started my second month of daily PHYTOSPECIFIC hair treatment at home (picture above). And like in the eighties tacky ads that make us smile : jumping in a taxi, the cab driver made me compliments for my “beautiful” hair, I was totally amazed!

Each morning, I apply a dollop of the Moisturizing Styling Ceam, with Quinoa oil (1).

Its texture is both rich and light that quickly feeds my hair, leaving a shiny look and a nice discret scent. So far away from cheap hair treatments! What a great pleasure to have a shiny hair not greasy! To run my hands through my hair ungreasy and unsticky at touch.

Once a week, I boost my hair with the Revitalizing Oil, with Castor Oil (2). If you ‘ve already known the thick awfull texture of the Castor Oil, you will be very surprided by the fluidity of the Revitalizing Oil. In the week-end, I wrap my hair with oil in a hot towel wrung out and leave it all day long.

Then I rinse and make the Deep Restructuring Shampoo, with Methiosil and Sea Lavander (3).

To be honest, it’s the only one product I’m not crazy about it. But it gently cleans. So quickly I apply and enjoy my favourite product, the Deep Restructuring Balm, with Methiosil and Sea Lavander! Amazing perfume, peach-coloured and creamy texture : a perfect balm to be applied generously.

I keep it one hour and when I rinse, my hair is silky, with big lustrous curls and waves. Absolutely beautiful! I don’t apply anything else and let my hair dry naturally. I tie my hair not very tightly, avoiding to make a brushing or to use a straightening iron (I never use it at home)!

And the hidden fifth element is the Ultra-Repair Night Treatment, with Amino Acids Hairspheres,

to apply 2 or 3 times a week. Same texture as the  Moisturizing Styling Ceam that nourrishes hair at night. When I wake up, my hair is very sweet and easy to style. For me PHYTOSPECIFIC hair treatment is really efficient and I enjoy using it.

Pleasure makes the regularity of the everyday care. First you might think, it’s too much work. Wrong, it’s relly quiclky to apply products and quickly the gesture becomes a – good – habit, thanks to results you can see and touch. Smoother my hair breaks less, with a natural shine.

This is a refine treatment hair for curly, frizzy and straightened hair, with a clean packaging! Yes, most of the packaging for ethnic products are so cheap and ugly, you don’t want to bring them in your bathroom! Thanks PHYTOSPECIFIC to get interest in your consumer tastes!

Caudalie: The Vinexpert Regimen For Skin Lacking Vitality

It began more and less one month ago

at the Caudalie Vinexpert line‘s ten years celebration. Do I really need to repeat today’s anti-aging is for any women: from mature women fighting against wrinkles to the youngest loosing firmness after a drastic diet ? Every women, you and me, mom… Seduced by the packaging, few days later I decided to test the famous Resveratrol patented and stabilized by Caudalie (named “the best anti-ageing molecule” by Harvard’s Department of Medicine”, “Thanks to Resveratrol, the wine is able to renew itself several centuries“,  Caudalie).

The first days, I didn’t pay attention to the draws inside box. Too bad, those draws explain how using the serums (1 & 2) and the creams (3 & 4). Industrious, I stick the draws on a thick sheet I bring with me to the bathroom to memorise the right gesture of each product!

Following this order, every moorning and night, I apply the Vinexpert Firming serum (1) that contains the most Resveratrol concentration. Then the Vinexpert Anti-aging serum eyes and lips perfectly moisturizes my higly sensitive eyelid contour. The  two serums have a pleasant light texture, absolutely not sticky.

As a day cream, I use Vinexpert Radiance day fluid SPF10 (3). The fluid texture penetrates really quickly and matifies my complexion, protecting the skin with a SPF10. After few weeks, it makes my pores of skin smaller and brighten my complexion all day long. Recently I’ve really noticed it!

And  the best for last :  the Vinexpert Night infusion cream (4) is my bless cream I love to apply each night. Its amazing thick texture nourrishes and regenates my skin. My “hug” cream that smoothes and relaxes my features. For one month my skin’s completely changed, most of my spots have been reduced to match skin’s natural, overall tone. Toner, my outline of the face has a better shap. Repeating the same gesture twice a day is like a firming draining massage to the skin.

The Vinexpert regiment is my best beauty surprise after the summer holidays. Cause I’m not the kind to trust anti-aging creams! And when I started testing the products, I didn’t expect more than a good moisturazing! For ending I do love the very discret scent of Caudalie’s products and the fact they don’t have parabens, phenoxyethanol, artificial colorings, mineral oils… No testing on animals. And they are non-comedogenic. “What else?”.
