Roadtrip In Spain: Second Stop, Madrid

A kaleidoscope of Pictures and Creativity

A day and a half to discover the city is far too little! Especially since it had been a while since I had been to Madrid. The city is huge and imposing… We arrived by train from Barcelona late in the afternoon, on time. The journey went smoothly. Now, heading to the Hyatt Regency Hesperia Madrid hotel (photos “Day 1” below), located on the long Paseo de la Castellana, near the financial district and the Thyssen-Bornemisza and Prado museums.

Besides, these will be the only museums that we will have time to visit: my favorite: the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum that I already knew (photo “Day 2”). At the Prado, there is a lot, too much to see, so much so that after a long time, I felt unwell and we went to get some fresh air in the Retiro Park. The little gem of this stopover in Madrid: the private tasting of sweets and chocolates, organized by the hotel, in the oldest candy house in Madrid, the Bombonería Pajarita (photos “Day 2”).

Both evenings, we stayed for dinner in our comfortable hotel, we felt so good there! The food was delicious with a friendly professional service. The business lounge also offers quality products: in a pleasant space reserved for premium customers, it is possible to drink and eat light, during the day as well as in the evening. This service is free and very useful when you come back exhausted in the evening and it is too late to dine at the restaurant. Then what a pleasure to return to my room and dive into my bed!

Next stop : Murcia. To be continued
