My Routine For Dry Hair: Scrub, Shampoo and Care

The Scrub and Shampoo

Recently, I tested the Matrix Biolage ScalpSync exfoliating treatment (1). As I often use hair care and oils, I want to clean my scalp without stripping once every 2-3 weeks, to let it breathe.

The product is like a traditional body scrub. You have to apply it before the shampoo, with light massage on the moistened scalp. In fact, I take time to perfectly rinse my hair and scalp before applying the exfoliant, because the day before I often make an oil bath.

Then I use the Repairing Shampoo 2 in 1 ACTIREPAIR of Activilong with avocado and organic olive oils (paraben free and silicone free (2), it makes more foam than usual. Proof that the exfoliant took away all product residue in the hair? I think so. This shampoo is very soft and creamy, so pleasant to apply!

The Excellent Care

I don’t use conditioner, I prefer masks for deep care. I leave the mask to damp hair as a leave-in conditioner for one or more days. My SUPER powerfull mask that dramatically softens my curls, Smooth Infusion – Smoothing Masque of Aveda (3). This product is fantastic!

This mask has a very strong smell like aromatherapy. Great! I add a few drops of: the Dry Remedy Oil of Aveda, or Repairing Oil “Fantastic Oil” ACTIREPAIR of Activilong. And I make Bantu Knocks. The result has an incredible flexibility and lasts up to 5 days, without adding product.

My other favorite is Dry Remedy Masque Hydratant of Aveda (4), when my hair is really thirsty. I don’t use as a leave-in conditioner. I keep it a few hours, sometimes overnight and I rinse and apply a styling product with a few drops of oil.

The Super Styling

Super effective on very dry, damaged and curly hair, the Repair & Styling Cream ACTIREPAIR of Activilong feeds and gives gloss to the hair (5). As it is very rich, very little product is enough. I prefer applying it to damp hair. Because I almost never use blow dryer to dry my hair.

Another option when I want to smooth out naturally, I apply to damp hair the Smooth Infusion style-prep smoother of Aveda (6). I comb the hair in a bun and let it air dry.

THE DRY REMEDY OIL, AVEDA

The revelation. At first I was a little skeptical, seeing the size of the bottle. Ultra concentrated, this silicone free oil and 99.9% natural, contains Buriti oil. A few drops to deeply care and tame my mane.

The heady scent of aromatherapy connects me to nature. I daily use the Dry Remedy Oil on slightly damp hair to keep moisturizing, nourish and disentangle without breaking them.

I also added the oil in my care (masks). And when I make a pre-shampoo treatment: once my towel-dried hair, I apply the oil all over the hair, strand by strand and then I make a bun to let them dry naturally.

THE REPAIRING OIL “FANTASTIC OIL”, ACTIVILONG

I have a lot of hair which require constant cares. This oil has quickly become my essential care to restore and revitalize my thirsty weakened hair, while making them silky.

This winter, my ultra dry hair was very brittle: dull without smoothness or strength. And I lost a lot of my lengths. Formulated mineral oil free and silicone free, with 98% of plant ingredients (organic avocado and olive oils), the Fantastic Oil sheaths the hair to protect it from drying out.

I use the oil alone. Or I mix it with various masks and styling products to provide more flexibility and shine and nourish the scalp. But its thick texture also allows to leave it on the hair, without using additional products during few days.

THE BIRCH CELLULITE OIL, WELEDA

Good news, this oil really works for me (don’t drink it, it’s a body oil)! To optimize the effects, I dilute in my daily liter of water, a small spoon of the Weleda Birch Elixir to drain and detox the body.

The Weleda Birch Cellulite Oil is 100% natural: fragrance free, silicone free, no dyes or synthetic preservatives, no mineral ingredients or genetically modified ingredients. You can apply the oil on a damp skin after showering.

Followed by a jet of cold water from the bottom up along the legs. And for the most courageous, wet the whole body! Cold water tones and puts in a good mood (yep!). After a month of use, the effects are seen, my legs get thiner and toner: better blood circulation and less swelling.

THE REVITALIZING OIL FOR FACE, BODY AND HAIR, DARPHIN

Extremely pleasant to apply (fantastic texture) and smell, I use it as a night face cream after a scrub or a slightly abrasive cleansing / removing make-up. It quickly penetrates, soothes redness and the next day the skin is soft and fragrant like a baby.

I mix a few drops with a moisturizer to nourish and soften my hands and feet. The oil leaves a slight iridescent layer on the skin, like a summer fragrance …

Finally, when I want to add an extra shine on my hair (with an irresistible smell), I use the Revitalizing Oil as a finish touch only. It is not enough for nourishing my hair type. Definitely this oil is THE chameleon product to slip into your bag!

These Four Products Have Rescued My Hair!

I do not often straightens my hair (maximum 2 times a year) and without much enthusiasm, I’m not a fan of brushing. So I often find myself with two types of ultra dry hair. Over this time, a significant break on lengths and a real lack of drive to fix the problem! Yep it happens …

After visiting a thousand blogs and follow – I don’t know how many – vloggers, I decided to save my hair taking back my product testing! So I’ve tested four products of the Actiliss range of Activilong of Paris with Argan and Keratin ingredients for a month and a half. And I’m blown away by the results: half of breakage, more hydration, flexibility, softness, lightness and shine!

My two must have cares are the Smoothing Care Mask Actiliss and the Stop Break Pure Keratin System Actiliss. I really enjoy the creamy texture and delicious smell of the Smoothing Care Mask Actiliss that I use as no poo. I leave it a day or two before rinsing. It gives my hair an exceptionally soft and smooth texture from root to tip.

After the Smoothing Care Shampoo Actiliss (without sulfate and paraben) or on dry hair, I apply on my lengths the Stop Break Pure Keratin System Actiliss : a miracle care that moisturizes and nourishes. At first I found it a bit sticky. In fact my hair was so dehydrated and porous that I had to apply a lot (too much!). Very quickly, I used less product, cause I noticed my hair absorbed it better for a nice natural styling (no use of hair dryer, iron etc… ).

I ended quickly the Stop Break Pure Keratin System Actiliss that I also used as an oil bath to protect my hair from the sun and beach damages. This multi-care is pretty amazing! Currently for my daily detangling, I apply on the lengths the Heat Protection Smoothing Serium Actiliss. My hair is soft and smooth, but less well-fed than with the Stop Break Pure Keratin System Actiliss. In conclusion, excellent products to discover!
