Bouche à Oreille, Paris

Bouche à Oreille, Paris

A close friend brought me in a clear space of the Marais (a beautiful district of Paris) where took place during three days, a friendly confidential small fashion and accessories trade called “Bouche a Oreille” (word of mouth). Please do find here my groovy selection : four really cool young talented fashion designers. With exclusive interviews and list or contacts where to buy them: click on the name of the designer to be directed to the portrait page.

Christiansen: Funny Girly Bags

Jeanette doesn’t like

to be taken in picture ! But Jeanette makes many many lovely bags in different size and colors, so lovely that we want all of them !This charming danish fashion designer based in France for nine years, has worked for the greatissime Sonia Rykiel first, then in 2002 she creates her « glam rock and vintage » bags and clutches brand, Christiansen.

Jeanette loves metallic nuances and colors. And the French fashion press (Elle, Madame Figaro…) loves her bags : before meeting her, I saw them in magazines.

As an enthusiastic mom, recently Jeanette’s created with a friend, a new label for children, Eva & Oli, I’ll present you in a coming up post. Look at this funky “star” bag, especially conceived for mums with a baby.

Karine Jean: Bohemian Rock Traveller And Fashion Designer

– When I draw, I do not draw for me. It’s for an ideal of woman more feminine than me. Now I try to get in this feminine world.

Between two flights to Asia, the rangy slender hyper active Karine conceives and organizes her collections and makes her prototypes and goes to professional trades and sells her collections. She loves India and tomorrow she’ll take off for Beijing. This big traveler defines the “Karine Jean” brand style as:

– Romantic, a bit rock’n’roll, with an unpretentious hippie chic influence. I need to feel comfortable. In my fabrics selection from Japan, India and Italy: it has to be a bit shiny and fun!

Her customers are “deeply urban”. And her collections are retailed in few Marais and 7th Arrondissement of Paris boutiques and also in Asia: Japan, Korea and Taiwan

And when I notice her blouse is the master piece of this collection, break, thinking look, Karine agrees :

– It’s really my thing. I find my inspiration in memories of my mum, I got frames.
